well we are two races into this new season and i want to know what do you think about the overall or average performance of the teams.

as i see - and im probably not alone with it - the teams with THE diffusor has the initial advantage while the kers seems not to improve the performance that much. but properly used its often useful when you want to overtake someone else (see hamilton's first laps in melbourne).

so my list is the following. note that its just an approximation it always changes.

brawn*
toyota*
williams*
redbull

bmw/+
ferrari+

mclaren+
renault+

toro rosso
force india

* - diffusor
+ - kers
/+ - kers in one car

two thing:

1) if the diffusor will be legal after april 14th, and if the red bull manages to use it they would be ahead of the rest i think.
2) it seems last years' traditional 'big ones' has been stuck on the midfield.

I agree with that order.
On Kers I am confused, comentators say that it does nothing but different drivers are saying that they are over taken too easily by cars with Kers or that they would be no where without Kers..hmm

I think that BMW Sauber, Ferrari, McLaren and Renault all have the development budget and know-how to mount an assault on those top 3, starting from the next race. I also believe that Williams and Brawn will not be able to sustain their pace all season, because as we've heard they already have the one component that is making a distinct difference at this stage.

I therefore think that Toyota and Red Bull will get the jump on everyone initially, but it'll be a long season. My prediction at this stage is that Ferrari will catch up, and it'll be either Raikkonen or Massa for the title. This, despite even the start we've had!

i agree that ferrari will catch up, but it will depend on april 14 whether the others can get far enough ahead before this catch-up begins.

Those diffusers should remain legal cause imo how the rules are written they ARE legal, its the other teams that @#$%& up and are pissed about it, and no redbull wont be able to use it due to how thier rear suspension is layed out so they are pretty @#$%&

As far as I was aware the suspesion members were not in a posistion to limit RedBulls diffuser design. I thought the main concern is space around the gearbox but in front of the susepension. Looking at TF and FW I can see no reason why RedBull can not have their own double decker.

Sadly I dont think these diffusers are worth as much as everyone is saying, I doubt the teams without one are going to bolt one on and be quicker than Williams, Toyota and Brawn. I think there is alot more other than this one device.

Also, one thing that the Williams and Brawn share in common is that plough type thing under the nose. Mclaren tested a similar device on Friday, and I saw today on Qualifying that BMW too had a similar device. On Nicks car I saw it.

Red Bull have already admitted they are well in re-designing the rear to accommodate a possible double decker anyway

they would be crazy not to.

just like i wouldn't be surprised if the diffuser teams haven't planned the opposite should the decision not go their way.
