The commentary today was generally a bit meh, I thought. Martin did have some inspired moments as usual, but there were some painfully long silences, and both commentators generally seemed a bit uninterested, which was unusual. It suffered a bit too, probably, because it followed on from great commentaries in the first 3 races.

In fairness, while Legard was poor today at times, missing things and also making a few mistakes with his facts and figures, there were times in the past when Allen missed important developments which should've jumped out of the TV screen at him too. One example I can think of off the top of my head was Shanghai 2005 when the drain cover was clearly sticking up out of the track, and then we saw Montoya wallop it in such a way that his car was clearly going to be badly damaged at least, and neither commentator noticed till the replays were shown.
But yup, as much as it pains me to say it, Allen was usually spot on when mentioning past facts and stats.

True, I was very surprised by that. It was only a key development in the race. :P
