That was brilliant. I thought Eddie might have a real go at Bernie, being Eddie, but he couldn't, because Bernie just started talking absolute crap.

plus Bernie might have had something to do with the new-style presentation of F1 on the BBC, including the use of people like DC and EJ, so EJ can't really have a go at him.

and i agree, the graphics they're using are much better, each car on the grid actually has more or less the correct shape, plus livery, and the whole track is modelled accurately with the edge-of-track details all added too. ITV just used 1 generic carshape and the liveries weren't too sharp either.

the starting grid with distances between each car was good, as was the fuel-corrected grid, actually visualising what they mean when they talk about who did and didn't do a good job in qualli.

I missed the race thanks to having work at 10 this morning. Getting home at 4.10pm I managed to watch the entire race + the end of the Man Utd - Villa game.

Just watching Practice online today. I like Croft and Davidson but it seems the bbc radio team is the weakest one by far. The comentator stutters too much and is a bit wooden. Lee is useless, i dont even notice her, and the guy from Force India isnt that great either.

dunno, i like ian phillips, gives a different perspective and him and maurice are quite entertaining.

the afternoon session coverage is like last year,a much more laid back affair than the morning one. it ends up a bit like test match special where they answer a lot of txt's and talk about anything other than whats going on on the track

I must say though, i had my reservations when they said they brought in Mike Gascoyne to stand in for EJ, but on the basis of his performance this morning i was quite impressed. Got his teeth into some of the technical issues very well indeed.

The biggest suprise this year is how confident Davidson has become on the practice sessions. Personally i thing hes the diamond in the BBC coverage at the minute. Try listening to 5live coverage for a bit while the race is on - Legard and Brundle are great in my opinion, but Davidson is magic

lets all be greatful that we at least get all this coverage, fp1, fp2 fp3, qulai, race interrupted, press conf and if you miss anythign just watch it online later in good qulaity picture.

1 zillion billion times better than itv. btw just happened to flick over to jeremy kyle this morning by mistake and is that the worst program on the telly or what? pure exploitation by itv, the ppl on there are thick as 2 planks, real dregs of society i would say.

Ian Phillips is fantastic. He isn't a commentator - he is a normal dude who works for a team. Because of that his insights are great.

what team does he work for? Last time I heard he was fired from Force India and he sued them later as well :)

No that was Mike Gascoyne that got fired and sued them, Ian phillips was doing the 5live commentary but still works for Force India.

brundle and davidson together would be awesome, leggard is annoying me already, he jumps over martin too much.

Speaking of him, anyone else think he was fantastic today? Far better than Jordan, though he'd be less entertaining.

Some good banter about the pink shirt between Humpreys and DC (well lack of banter in the latter's case :D).

I missed the start of the programme today, why is EJ missing? Gascoyne was alright when being spoken to, but he seems like a bloke lingering on the edge of a social group at the pub.

Check again. I don't think you even know who we're talking about.

Legard sounds like he is commentating a horse race sometimes. Has he ever done that?

i though Gascoyne was great, i'd rather hear his technical insights than EJ's opinions.

it did look a bit comical seeing the 3 of them in a line though, with Mike being a short tubby bloke, DC being a bit taller and very slim, and Jake towering over the pair of them.
