Anyone got any info on if BBC's doing this for every grandprix or is it just a pre-season sort of thing?

Think they might well do. It's become so much easier to do things like this since interactive started.

So Grand Prix coverage of 1986 and 1994, and condensed highlights of 1991 (harsh considering how short the damn race was), 1996 and 2007 (5-Live commentary thank God). Not bad, watched the lot in about an hour and a half.

Epic coverage of 1986 and 1994, then 5 mins for everything else, which kinda sucked but meh, it was certainly better than nothing! Was hoping they'd do 1993.

recorded it for 4 hours during the night, 1 single loop of the film is 1hr 43mins, so i got it twice in that time. it's gone from tonight though, they're showing cycling and skating. next f1 is the actual practice at 5am friday morning UK time.

There's a vote on the bbc f1 website. There is a selection of five "classic" races from the country holding the next grand prix. The one with the most votes get the extented highlights and the others get the five minute highlights. So at the moment the vote is for malaysia, although two years aren't available because of "technical problems" I guess someone at ITV videoed coronation street over the race. As the vote was close between 86 and 94 they showed both extended version this time.
I think it's a great idea, but then I thought ITV should show old races in the middle of the night or during the close season.

Five classic Malaysian races? Hmmm...problematic that one. I guess 2001 was pretty good in the middle for a bit.

//Edit: Of course that's the one that ain't there..typical! Everyone's voting for it all the same! :

2001 was brilliant. It only seemed a bit boring because it went on for so long. It had everything a great race should have. Plenty of overtaking, dominance gone wrong, a complete no-hoper right up at the front and @#$%& up weather with cars barely able to stay on the track.

Other than that... I enjoyed 1999 for the tension and Schumacher decimating everyone at will on his comeback... I'm really struggling after that.
