So we only have to put up with that dreadful livery for one more year ;)

So how long will it take until other banks pull out? RBS isn't doing too well for instance.

Don't know, but the first thought I had - will we have a Foster's Australian GP again? Yay if we do :)

Let's hope that Renault get a MUCH better livery for 2010! Although I'd be happy with the livery they tested in at the end of 2006. I'd be over the moon though if they brought back something similar to the Mild Seven livery (very unlikely, though) - that was probably my favourite livery in the entire F1 history.

Was never overly keen on the Mild Seven livery, I think it peaked in 1994 :P, same with the Rothmans, that never looked better than on the Williams FW16.

The best livery today is pretty much definitely the RBR and STR's.

Exactly my first thought when I read they were pulling out!

Shocker ;)

I just hope that Williams actually do half decent next season, with RBS disappearing soon Williams can't end up been a last placed team again and not be able to get sponsors :(

Well RBS have just extended their sponsorship of the Six Nations until 2013, so they seem keen to advertise their way out of this crisis. Personally, I'd like to see Renault have a yellow and black livery, a true Renault livery!

Thank god for that...hopefully they get a new sponsor with blue in their logo so the car can look similar to pre 2007!

I remember the first time I saw the 1994 Benneton livery - I thought it was hideous. :P
I thought 1995 onwards didn't look so bad, but I much preferred the Camel livery. For Renault, personally I'd like to see a return to an 80s-eque colour scheme. :)

Yeah the Camel & United colours livery of 92 and 94 was pretty sweet.

The Renault has looked more like a fried egg than an F1 car since it's had that ING livery ;)

Probably not long. They've got enough to worry about just staying in business atm. If the current financial climate persists, the planned Ferrari/Santander hookup might not even happen.

ING still gained 16% from the F1 advertising, there is a return to be obtained from being in F1 but ING is under far too much pressure to spend so much money on advertising.

I dont even think Renault will be on the grid next year specially if the economy doesn't get healthier. In fact I think Toyota, Renault and BMW will probably pull out next season because of the economy, win or no win.

LOL yes but it's also common sense that in business if a product from your portfolio is not bringing a good ROI then you have to scrap it and no matter how much you try to spin it F1 is too expensive in an economy that is hurting the car manufacturers the most, I mean Toyota are expecting a loss three times bigger than they had anticipated I am pretty sure BMW and Renault are not getting the sales they hoped too.

disappointing news for f1 i suppose, considering they sponsored 75% of the races with trackside advertising as well.

hopefully renault stays on the grid!
