So, where exactly did that money go to last year, the figure Mclaren were fined?

It is a shambles, and a shame, that money such as that is thrown around yet there are tracks like Silverstone in need of reburbishments.

Why couldn't some of that money be sent to help develop Silverstone? Or Montreal? Or any other existing track that Bernie is slamming down?

What about the rest of the fines?

What a farce.

F1 is dying.

First, it wasn't even 100 mln. It was 100 mln minus the won constructors money (pathetic in my book, but oh well). So, make it 60. It has yet to be decided where it should exactly go, but it was going to some program to help young drivers I believe. Didn't MS have something to do with how it would be spent?

And of all places, it shouldn't go to a track. The FIA don't need to help tracks who can't find proper sponsorship to pay their bills or development. It's not the FIAs problem.

to be fair even at $60m, it is still comfortably the biggest single fine ever handed out in the history of world sport.(i think second place is about $40m for price fixing of football shirts which was shared between a large number of parties)

but you're right, spending it on fixing up privately owned venues is not what the money should be used for.

So why should Silverstone get bailed out of there own incompetence, just because McLaren screwed up?

Yep, underperforming circuits can't expect massive charity from others for no good reason at all as important as Silverstone is..
