interesting learning about kers, a question though - can a driver use it on his qualifying lap to gain a speed/time advantage down a straight?

oo also, won't drvers be changing the wing specifications every time they enter a straight to get greater top speed but then quickly changing it to improve cornering skills?

No... I think they're limited to altering the front wing to twice a lap or something. I imagine it is something that will easily be regulated via the standard ECU.

i would imagine the drivers can use the boost from KERS in qualifying, and also the wing change is only once a lap from what the guy in the video said.

it's a good series, i watched one a few months ago on the tv when they showed us the wind tunnel.

They've been at the bedford autodrome this week too. I wondered what they were doing....... It was a corporate thing for Williams sponsors, and that was all filmed by eurosport. Infact I had to instruct Sam Michaels around in an XKR, he's mad...... Very competitive?! but a nice guy.

Once a lap? So you set it at the end of a long straight to enhance your downforce through a corner, but the next time round it'll be all wrong?

well that's what the guy in the video said. it would make sense for it to be twice a lap, maybe it is but he was just giving a quick explanation of it.

I'm pretty sure it's twice a lap.

i think he may mean you can adjust it once a lap, and revert it back to "default" once a lap
