thanks for the video

speaking of KERS, apparently 9 out of 10 teams want it to be delayed until 2010 now, citing financial reasons.

It is optional however some teams do want to use it. Honda for example.

BMW and Honda are the two who apparently want to use it. It is optional for 2009, and there was a vote calling for KERS to be delayed, but as BMW have put forward so much money has gone into getting KERS ready that cancelling it so late would be a total waste of time and money

Teams want to push it to 2010 because they don't want those who developed it already to have an advantage. I say let KERS happen in 09.

Would KERS fall under the category of Mechanical Engineering? I think it does, just want someone to confirm or correct me.

Actually which one more
'Mechanical engineering' or 'electrical and electronic engineering'

Depends on the implementation, but the fact it gathers energy from a moving part would fall under mechanical, surely...

All the teams have known when it was coming in. BMW and Honda were the only ones who actually bothered to start looking at it soon enough.

Its like having months to do an assignment only to ask for an extension because you only started it the night before a deadline....

so if they power up the KERS by braking, does that mean out laps in qualifying will now be cars excessively and repeatedly accelerating and then braking on straights to charge it up?
