Veni vidi vici for Brawn. The first two session were most impressive, just driving in a train two the first and second time over and over again, at ease it seemed.

Indeed I hope they can keep this up for a while, and keep develop their car during the season (and not get punished for the diffusor-issue).

BTW, fuel loads in two hours time. Should be interesting to know where each driver stands :)

When will we get the fuel break-downs? I think Brawn will be looking good, but also Ferrari. Excellent result for Jenson, cant help but be over the moon for him.

I had a feeling that one of the Brawns will be on pole.

I keep thinking of Brawn GP as a spiritual successor to the Hesketh team from the 70's, anybody else feeling this or is it just me? lol

Mortal: "I wonder if a certain Brazilian is crying now lol!" Lmfao at this !!! ;)

Fantastic qualifying session, really topsy-turvy, but the fastest cars got the front row of the grid, and by some margin too. Button or Barrichello could win tomorrow, providing the car doesn't let them down or they throw it off the track! Kubica's found some pace from nowhere, where the hell did that come from?! Ferrari 7th and 9th, they fuelled right up? Webber 10th - I think he made a mistake on that flying lap as I don't think he's fuelled much longer than Vettel.

Good job for Brawn, happy for Jenson in particular, and Richard Branson was funny too. Interesting qualy, and danm not everyone who supports Mclaren is a glory supporter!

Yup, I had that same feeling after qualifying. And I have the feeling that after the race tomorrow I'll have the feeling that the winner will be in first place.

One thing I dont get, Surely Mclaren could gain more time by removing KERS than by having it, as it's clearly not helping them at the moment.

do you know then how fast they are without it? if they are faster without it they would have removed it alreadt.

Look out for Kubica, guy is 4th on hard tyres.

Massa and Kimi, or they did mistakes or they had oversteer problems, neither of them got to put it together in a clean lap, Felipe lost 0.3 in 3rd sector, Kimi the same amount but during the second sector. At least, they not exactly are lacking pace, just need to work on that since during this weekend the f60 seemed dificult to complete a whole flying lap without some kind of "too agressive" trouble, car seems rather "delicated" to drive. But considering all that, should be interesting tomorrow for them, certainly they will want to recover these positions.

Let's see how the Kers will play during the starts, but it's possible the BGP cars went lighter than the others for Q3, perhaps afraid that Kers cars may have advantage on that moment overtaking easily the non Kers ones. We will see...

Anyways tomorrow should be really good, mainly because there's always a possiblity of SC in Melbourne, just remember last year with 7 cars only finishing the race... Thus, and therefore wishing to everybody a good race and great weekend! :>
Awesome session, and tbh i didn't expect Brawn to be quite so far ahead! The unpredictability of the rest of the field is excellent.

And Mortal, i'm sure that certain Brazilian doesn't know what to say - his fave driver on pole, but chased all the way by his team mate and in a car he swore a curse on ;)

Great lock-out from Brawn, brilliant pole from Jenson! Think Rubens might be a good bit heavier though. Rubens' final Q3 lap was really sublime, so smooth and well controlled on pretty much all the corners.

Great lap from Vettel!

McLaren and Renault are looking in a real state.

This is awesome for F1!

The closeness is just staggering. Q2 had the top 10 within 6 tenths. 4 cars doing the same times at one stage, then another 3 or 4 another tenth behind.

OK, Brawn pulled ahead when crunch time came, but what a stunning start to the year!

I wouldn't be so sure on Webber and Vettel yet... Webber has consistently been the faster all weekend until Q3.

Kubica sounded like he really messed up his fastest lap, so was he thinking he should have been separating the Brawns?

Still a lot of questions.

> brundles man boobs! lol

Haha, that was just pure hilarity!

All in all however, BRAWN BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!! (I just felt like saying that, I can't get over the excitement

BBC commentary was fab, the presentation was good and very unbiased. Just what I want. Jonathan is ok, but he's fluffling up a bit. When I saw Jense get pole I had this running through my head [james allen mode]JENNNNSSSON BUTTTONN!!!![/james allen mode]. I missed FP3 due to alarms being messed up but managed to catch last 4mins of it. Nico, that guy was on the ball!

Qualy was a very different story. Renault out, BMW nearly out, McLaren out, Ferrari very nearly but managed to stay on. Looks like the SFMs are going for a longer first stint on the softs and then do two shorter ones on the Hard or vica versa as the car doesn't seem grip the track. Felipe is fighting the car through the last few corners.

Main Story ofcourse, is the Brawns. Whoever made that edit of the BGP on the front row should pat himself on the back. Rubinho and Jense were just fighting over times and no one got a nose in. It's like Ferrari in 04 all over again. Glad to see Virgin came in with the team so lots of time to develop the car to make it the best throughout this season.

Biggest factor imo, is going to be the tyre temperatures. The cars are not getting enough grip as soon as it goes down. *Hopes for around 34ÂșC*
man this is seriously awesome!

Really worth getting up early to watch it :P

How can Piquet be THAT bad?

Good job by Brawn...and Red Bull surprised me :)
I really hoep the diffuser is approved at appeal, because I think it's a clever interpretation of the regulations. However, IF it is overruled then Red Bull are looking in exceptional form.

A really brilliant start to the season! One of the most entertaining qualifying sessions I can remember. I honestly don't mind who wins this one, it'll be a fantastic start to the season nevertheless!

As for the rest of the year, I know it's ridiculously early to start extrapolating but IMHO Ferrari look close enough to get themselves back in the hunt for wins and Championships. I'd still put my money on them toclaw back the difference and end the year on top, but I really hope teams like Red Bull, Williams and (dare I say it?) Brawn GP can make it hard for them.

McLaren and Renault look too far back to make significant inroads at this stage, but as I've said, it's too early to set anything in stone.

Both the BBC coverage and the qualifying itself were better than I hoped for. I like the new jazzed-up FIA intro. I seem to be the other way around to most people in that I thought Coulthard was the one who looked awkward, and that Eddie Jordan was better. Clearly they were all nervous, but who can blame them? I also wonder what they'll be like when they settle in after a few races? On Jake Humphries, I was one of the few who thought he was the right choice to be the anchorman when he was announced, once again he lived up to my (as always high :P ) expectations.

Chuffed for Brawn, I think they're going to become an extremely popular team!

F1 genuinely feels exciting again, it's amazing what the changes have done this year.
