Here's a better image:

Again designed by Tilke then, what a surprise. I do like the twisty section though, which will probably be ruined by huge runoffs.

Well it may well at least make Formula Rus' a little more interesting, if nothing else... :)

Like it was predicted... here's my opinion: looks crap and useless. Even Laguna Seca or Adelaide would be much better than a race there.

I'm fed up of new tilkedromes...

Can you for once also back up your opinion with an argument, rather than just posting your opinion and leave?

two long boring straights, crappy layout which looks boring to drive in these slow sequences of slow corners - it looks even more slower than Hungary, i have even tried to imagine how it would be, looked real boring tbh. And the place... Russia?!?? sucks.

looks more like a proper moto gp track than a F1 track. Give it for moto gp not F1 then.

Saying Russia sucks is general, narrow-minded and also possibly offensive to Russians.
I think that in a few years time, the expansion is going to need to slow, especially with the current economic climate.

And why does Russia suck then? F1 needs to grow, just like you need to grow up

The track looks nice but I don't think Russia should get a GP as of now with whats been going on over there.

He's probably aiming at politics. But that shouldn't affect race locations. If the FIA don't race in a country due to politics, they choose sides, while the FIA should be a neutral organisation.

Yes politics, and it should affect a race location if it poses a danger.

Yes but 'danger' is objective. Russia could say that the USA poses a danger with its huge arsenal of nukes but that's not why we left Indy this year.

Well, F1 are still driving in the Middle East with that enourmous threat of terrorism that was said to be there. Not a single thing has happened. AFAIK Russia is not a dangerous place to be in. There weren't any incidents when RedBull (?) did a demo in Moscow.

It will be dangerous with Ferrari being around making pitstops using lollypoplights.

I don't see how anyone can claim this looks okay - it has no FLOW what so ever because of the tight, slow corners. I don't know how he thinks this will improve overtaking, cos if anything it will make it worse. If a driver makes a mistake in these slow corners then they can just block for the corner and because none of them have any sweeping sections after it, there is no real way past except if you want to try and barge past on the inside, hardly elegant, and in most cases no one would be stupid enough to leave room there.

Also the corners are all so uniform, (except one of them, that comes directly after another really slow corner, and is so long that it's opening / tightening nature really doesn't make any difference (i don't know which way round the track goes)).

I just don't see how anyone can think his tracks are good :( Or even fun to drive. Although apparently istanbul is good but I haven't really seen that.
