And when the Simpsons uses the word wanker no one gets offended...some people need to get real. Personally I find Hamilton being described as Senna-esque is a lot more insulting but that's just me ;)

Due to the voting system in Germany, Governments are always made up of coalitions of different parties. At the last election, an almost unprecidented result saw the CDU/CSU (rough equivilant of the Conservatives) go into Government with the SPD (rough equivilant of Labour)

Ey!

A is a pikey and A is well praad innit! Dat wood b well gd if A 'ad a job layin maccy wunit! An A don liv in no gypo van niver!

*ahem*

Yeh as some people have said 'pikey' refers to people who live on/near council estates or talk with a London accent. I don't really think it's an insult though, it's all just political correctness gone mad.

From where i'm from pikeys are known as the irish travellers who tarmac drives and install guttering, and leave general mayhem behind them when they're moved on by authoritys.

who are these losers picking on Brundle? i see no problem with how he used the word at all, i dont see how anyone could. the politically correct nobs should go get a life.
and i also agree, brundles co-commentator constantly calling hamilton senna-esque is much more insulting!

Do you get in more trouble for using a term that nobody takes as racist than having a nazi orgy?

The Beeb have even seen fit to post an article about how it can be considered insulting:

[news.bbc.co.uk]

All seems a bit silly if you ask me. It's quite telling that all of the comments on the story so far are pointing to political correctness gone mad...

to me pikeys are trash who erode our society by living on benefits and contributing greatly to crime. Pikey is also a type of fish [www.fish.gov.au]. the end.
