IF there's reasonable evidence that anyone within the FIA or F1 was in any way involved in getting this scandal to the press then they're in far bigger @#$%& than Mosley.

but does it really matter whether it was a setup or not?

Yes, its very important.

However, being setup does not resolve him of his part of it.

They probably think its merc due to the German girls But if max wanted the N stuff he would have picked German girls.

Max will never be able to prove it anyway, just like honda could never prove they did not run light and just like mclaren could never prove they never used ferrari data on last years car. Both teams got dq as will max.

yes, that's what he meant. he is just trying to use that as an excuse to hide the other allegations.

btw, the Brits have told him to resign now too...
"Also on Friday, the British Sport Industry Group also rounded on Mosley's behaviour.

"He is without doubt not suitable to continue within our industry and I call for his immediate resignation," Chairman Nick Keller said." (F1-Live)

Are they German girls? As I said, they had a thick British (London?) accent, and the German stuff didn't sound as fluid as the English stuff. And what does Mercedes and German have to do with it anyway? If Mercedes were going to setup Max, why would they fly hookers from Germany, rather than just get local ones?

The nationality of the girls and the nationality of Mercedes is pure coincidence.

Oh at last they have said something since they did not help mclaren at all last year! I was beging to think we did not have anyone on the council.

Max said he had to speak German as they were and could not speak English.

Max is the one saying he was set up, TripleM is not the only person to have said that BMW are saying the same as well.

As I said before though people must have known what he was doing or it would not have been this easy to set him up.

He slated mclaren and ron for lying but he is lying as well, maybe they should fine him 50 million.

kimi has spoken out and you would not really expect much less from him lol

But Raikkonen is quoted as saying by the Mirror: "It's his personal life and he can do whatever he wants and it's not really my business or anyone else's to put their noses in."

I do not really understand the following one though at all.

Ferrari's Stefano Domenicali added: "For the time being, we will not make any kind of declaration but I think it's a matter of role and responsibility.

"Everyone has his role and beyond that there is responsibility connected to that, and that's it," he said.

Does this mean support for Max or not.

Well, my personal hope is that the story came from here:

And the only person from F1/FIA involved is Mosley himself.

"Does this mean support for Max or not."

My personal understanding is that it's not Domenicali's responsibility to issue a definitive statement and it should come from above him (LdM?).

My understanding is that Ferrari wish to be seen to be commenting on the situation, without actually saying anything of any worth.

(Ironically, this post is doing something similar :))

you can tell Max is a lawyer, he says he has done nothing wrong and ppl do things in their bedrooms that others find repugnant. he says everything he did was legal, and being a lawyer, it would suggest that hiring or whatever he did to get those hookers was completly legal. how can anyone look at him with a straight face they would just crack up.

Defiant FIA president Max Mosley insists he has done 'nothing wrong' in the scandal over his private life, and labelled his behaviour as 'harmless and completely legal'.

The head of motor racing's governing body has so far resisted all calls for him to resign in the wake of the sexual allegations made by the News of the World, and last night revealed that he would be suing the newspaper over the story.

In a letter to the German motoring federation ADAC, which has asked Mosley to seriously consider his position, Mosley says that he cannot see any reason why he should quit - and claims he has support from 20 FIA clubs and representatives of some additional 50 clubs to stay on in his role.

The letter, a copy of which has been seen by autosport.com, is addressed to ADAC president Peter Meyer and has also been sent to all FIA member clubs, members of the World Motor Sport Council, members of the FIA Senate and members of the World Council for Automobile Mobility and Tourism.

"Had I been caught driving excessively fast on a public road or over the alcohol limit (even in, say, Sweden where it is very low) I should have resigned the same day," wrote Mosley.

"As it is, a scandal paper obtained by illegal means pictures of something I did in private which, although unacceptable to some people, was harmless and completely legal. Many people do things in their bedrooms or have personal habits which others find repugnant. But as long as they keep them private, nobody objects.

"The offence seems to be not what I did but the fact that it became public. But I played no role in this, indeed I did my utmost to ensure it remained private. I was the victim of a disgusting conspiracy.

"It goes without saying that the so-called Nazi element is pure fabrication. This will become crystal clear when the matter comes to trial. The newspaper invented this in order to spice up their story and introduce my family background."

He added: "In short, I think I have done nothing wrong and that the wrong was done by the newspaper. That is why I am suing them.

"I don't think any of this should affect my work on motoring safety, the environment or the sport. I believe that 21st century adults do not worry about private sexual matters as long as they are legal and harmless. I shall put this view to the Assembly in due course."

As well as ADAC's criticism, other motoring organizations that have expressed concern about Mosley's behaviour include the Dutch federation KNAF, the American federation AAA and Israel's Automobile and Touring Club.

Furthermore in the letter, Mosley reveals that he has also received a letter from the Australian touring club in a similar tone to that expressed by ADAC.

Just like Ron thought they done nothing wrong last year.

The problem Max has is that no one will be able to look at him with a str8 face and after the things he said about BMW and Merc the other day made it worse.

Would you stop drumming up the events of last year?

Seriously...

Or if we play your game, then you should realize that Mosley's actions would lead to his resignation and/or people snickering behind his back, while the people involved in the case last year could end up with real prison time...

you can tell Max is a lawyer

Yeah, you can. By lying, cheating and now attempting to sue News Of The World using laws and regulations which do not exist.

A spokesman for Mosley told autosport.com: "Lawyers representing Mr. Mosley have today served proceedings against the News of the World, claiming unlimited damages."

It is understood that Mosley is pursuing what he believes to be an invasion of privacy in the report.

1 - There is no invasion of privacy laws in the UK. Good examples are JK Rowling losing her care, and whilst Niami Campbell won hers, the compensation was low

2 - You cannot claim for set compensation levels in cases of this type. Compensation is decided by the court, always has been, always will do with the current system.

Max will probably not win the case as Dave said.

Elton John did due to the fact they said he was gay and back then he said he was not.

Jason Donavon won his case as again they said he was gay and he was not.

What is Max going to say? its tough luck someone gave in a video of him having sex he will need to prove they set him up or there is nothing he can do.

We shall see what happens anyway. Until its decided though I think he should be put on leave.
