Please BBC, keep the TG crew out of it. Earnest jokers in the F1 cattery won't work. Start Operation 'Get Brundle'. He's thoughtful and opinionated in equal measure and slips in subtle humour without effort.

You know BBC's commentary will be in house?

Does that mean they wont travel to the races?

no its just means they'll be using all there own cameras, editors, presenters etc, instead of paying another company to do all the work, and then the BBC broadcast it

and they have to keep Brundle!

It suggests to me that the 'personalities' will be from in-house, meaning existing stock from within the BBC stable. No outsiders. No Allen is worse than no Brundle.

Look i think Damon's a top bloke and was a great driver in his day but his commentary was shite IMO. Too biased and made lots of errors.

I seriously hope the Beeb take Martin on, the guy has won several awards for crying out loud. If he was partnered with Ben Edwards for next year i couldn't be happier.

F1 in HD would also be sweet.

Which is superb news, as BBC Camera's for sports are HD :)

If they did hire Hill, I think he'd be pretty good as one of the Race Analysts myself, as BBC will probably hire about 2 or 3 like Match of the Day have, instead of just Blundell's boring opinions ;) But I don't think Hill would be able to, be too busy with BRDC commitments.

I've got something against Allen, a shotgun. Seriously how can anyone think that Allen is better than Brundle?

James "oh my god I creamed myself because someone made a move" Allen is terribly annoying.

From the talk going around the paddock at Monaco, the commentary team will consist of mostly BBC personnel with Martin Brundle to join them.
If David Coulthard doesn't get a renewed contract with Red Bull then he is rumoured to be favourite to become an analyst similar to Blundells current position.

I'd be happy with that. You can never accuse DC of being short of an opinion. :)

Good point gav, DC would be an excellent pundit...but do you think he'll be suitable for a live audience? ;)

i hope the BBC appoint people on actually being good at the job, rather than filling quotas.

I beleive that F1 is already filmed in HD and boradast as such in other countries. America possibly? Its an irony that Sony's ads go on about HD so much.

Presenters/commentators

Allen - Bit over the top with the Senna thing this wekend
Brundle - Not immune from crap. Brake tested Lewis springs to mind
Kravitz - Pretty good
Goodman - Ugly and @#$%&
Ryder - Teflon. And knows everyone in the paddock
Blundell - Cant speak english!
