The deaths of world champions:
Emilio Giuseppe "Nino" Farina (October 30, 1906 - June 30, 1966) -public road car crash at Chambery in France
Juan Manuel Fangio (June 24, 1911 - July 17, 1995), -no particular reason -just died in Buenos Aires in 1995
Alberto Ascari (July 13, 1918 – May 26, 1955), -crash in Monza while testing Ferrari 750 Monza sports car
John Michael Hawthorn (April 10, 1929 - January 22, 1959), -automobile accident on the A3 Guildford bypass
Jim Clark (4 March 1936 – 7 April 1968) -crashed during F2 race at Hockenheim
Denis Clive "Denny" Hulme (18 June 1936–4 October 1992), -massive heart attack while driving on public road. EDIT
after mr.fossy and nickv complained I'm changing it into: heart attack while contesting Bathurst 1000 race.
Norman Graham Hill (February 15, 1929 – November 29, 1975), -air crash in foggy conditions over Arkley Golf Course
Karl Jochen Rindt (April 18, 1942 - September 5, 1970), -crashed during practice for the 1970 Italian Grand Prix in Monza
James Simon Wallis Hunt (29 August 1947 – 15 June 1993), - heart attack at his home in Wimbledon
Ayrton Senna da Silva (March 21, 1960 – May 1, 1994), -crashed while leading the F1 race at Imola
Notes: out of 10 wdc that are no longer alive two died because of heart attack, two died in public road
accidents, one died in private test session, one in offical practice session, one at F2 race,
one died because he was old, one died in plane crash, the only world champion that actually
died whil driving(and leading) an F1 race was Ayrton Senna
