Winner: Not the Nickv Comment of the Year 2009

Due to the voting system in Germany, Governments are always made up of coalitions of different parties. At the last election, an almost unprecidented result saw the CDU/CSU (rough equivilant of the Conservatives) go into Government with the SPD (rough equivilant of Labour)

I didn't say it was ;-)

Agreed tripleM though - it was plainly obvious it was going to rain. Every forecast was saying so. Brundle always says that you use whatever tyres there are that suit the immediate situation, but even he was surprised more didn't take the risk. Someone like Heidfeld or Coulthard gambling on wets could have easily pulled off a win had it not rained quite as hard.

i would scratch off that list

Kubica - France
Wurz - Europe
Hamilton - Usa

and put in

Heidfeld - Bahrein
Alonso - Monza
Rosberg - Hungary
Kovalainen - Turkey

I know its been discussed but I dont get why they dont wait till the end of the season.

I mean, a few drives at Fuji could have been in for a mention and whats saying Sutil wont win tomorrow??!

Yea its pretty stupid. In 2005 Kimi won that brilliant Japanese grand prix, coming through the field and overtaking Fisichella for the lead on the last lap. Clearly the best drive of the season but it didn't get it because it couldn't be voted for :/

****Possible Spoiler****

Once again todays race showed how stupid it is having these awards as early as they do.

Beause on that list should be Kimis, Vettels, and Buttons drives, Also who knows what we might see in Brazil, maybe a driver doing a shumacher!

i've stopped buying f1racing, too expensive, but i did have the last two, (my dad bought them ;) ) was expecting some kind of kimi feature for winning the dam championship, but instead got another lewis fest!

don't know whose worse, james allen or f1racing!

and in the December issue in the Reader's Letters, someone even wrote saying how disappointed they were in the November issue, how they expected it to be a Kimi Championship Special, but it wasn't and how the cover had a large pic of Lewis' upset face and a small pic of Kimi celebrating.

they replied saying that when Alonso won his first championship, their next issue had Kimi on the cover, not Fernando, so it's unfair to criticise them this time!

but i bet they didn't have Kimi on the cover 3 times in a row in 2005, as they have with Lewis this year.

yeah i read that too, i remember on the the cover of november i think, it says how lewis will blow everyone away, but when you find it, its only 2 paragraphs in a box, really gone down hill

do you remember f1 magazine? that was a proper mag, was a bit like gq for f1, shame no one boought it

does it have a kimi feature in this months mag?

yeah, the cover said "Next year they won't see Lewis for dust - our experts explain why"

and the reason he will blow everyone away? because of history, apparently. just because he has won every category he raced in in his first or second year, he will win the F1 title in his 2nd season because he didn't in his 1st. what a stupid, illogical, half-assed opinion!

F1 is completely different to any other categpory below it, and while it is entirely possible he will win the '08 title, it just stinks of smugness and arrogance for F1 Racing to write and print such a piss-poor explanation. it's not fact, it's only opinion.

> does it have a kimi feature in this months mag?

haven't opened it yet (haven't finished the last issue yet), only looked at the cover, but there isn't any mention of a Kimi article, might be though.

here are the November, December and January issues:

it's understandable why they do it, as there's not much F1 in the news over the off-season, but by putting Lewis on the cover it may attract casual F1 followers into buying the magazine, but it's bloody annoying for us hardcore fans.

I think M Schumacher has the record of being on the most covers of F1 Racing (much like Pamela Anderson with Playboy ;)), but it looks like Lewis will easily take it from him going by the current trend.

Well it was very expensive, and at the time, F1 Racing was a half decent magazine. I've still kept a couple of old 2001 issues of F1 Magazine and some of the in depth analysis articles are brilliant. I think Tom Rubython was editor wasnt he? He writes some interesting pieces from time to time.
