F1 Racing MOTY votes - Drive of the year....

Had just read 'Windsors Wisdom' article on the itv-f1 site, and there was a link to the Man of the Year voting, so with 5 minutes to spare I decided to fill it out. One category in particular looks pretty farcical to me though, the 'drive of the year'.

The contenders being:

Lewis Hamilton - Australia
Fernando Alonso - Malaysia
Felipe Massa - Spain
Takuma Sato - Spain
Alex Wurz - Canada
Takuma Sato - Canada
Robert Kubica - France
Kimi Raikkonen - Britain
Alex Wurz - Europe
Scott Speed - Monaco
David Coulthard - Spain
Lewis Hamilton - USA
Jenson Button - Turkey
Sebastian Vettel - USA

I don't see how drives like Heidfelds in Bahrain, or Webber at the Nurburgring aren't included, and thats just off the top of my head. Especially as some of the above drives were poorer than the two i just mentioned. To name a couple, Vettels debut race at Indianapolis cannot be considered a contender, it was a plain average drive in the third best car. As for listing Hamilton at Monaco?!? How can that be there when Alonso at Monaco is not? He was beaten fair and square on the day, but we are to somehow appreciate that Hamiltons drive to second was better than Alonso to first? I could go on but meh /rant over

What do you think should/shouldn't be included?

Takuma Sato - Canada

WINNER! :D

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it

Because that wasn't a fantastic drive. He only lead because he made a smart pitstop, any other guy could've done that.

Surely you should be able to vote for the driver and race you want. That's F1 racing for you.

Not really possible. It would take ages to sort through. The way that survey is structured, they obviously expect to be able to import the data straight into SPSS, assign it some variables and it'll spit out the answers in 5 seconds.

f1 racing has turned into a gay magazine lately, i couldnt care less who wins their stupid awards, i used to buy their magazines, but last few years it a complete waste of money, as so much F1 info in available online these days, without the bullshit editorial oppions which even any basic simpleton who has watched a few f1 races can make better reports and oppinions then the stupid Brit editors of F1 mag.... Matt Bishops editorial of Fisichella as 2nd best Driver in the world will go down in history as the stupidest magazine editorial in Magazine History (Sport of other) lol, that one single report back in 2002, lost them a customer (any many others i assume). that magazine is the biggest waste of money in sport, i came to that conclusion after that particular issue that claimed fisichella was 2nd best driver in the world, when any half-wit without f1 knowledge can see hes a midfield driver at best. Hey Matt Bishop, you fat loser, how come your boy couldnt come close to alonso in renault? you should concentrate more on your collesteral than f1 tipping you fat loser, i wasted good money buying your magazines a few years ago you fat cunt. thanks for wasting me waste my money of '1st year F1 fan grade writings' in your pathetic pommy magazines, back in 2001-2003. ill never ever buy your pommy trash again you fat piece of @#$%&.

Don't thank him, thank yourself. You were apparently stupid enough to buy them for three years.

But they didn't.

Same driver, different event - Nurburgring.

Taku at Montreal wasn't that great for me. He benefited from circumstance more than strategy or great driving. It was a very good drive, but he didn't make it happen, it just happened for him.

First choice for me will be Alonso at Silverstone. His strategy was great, and drove the balls off of it, and very nearly beat a much faster Kimi.

Runner up will be Hamilton at Sepang. His early race driving was great.

The choices are frankly odd. Bishop should spend more time watching races instead of filling up his magazine with useless articles (like that attack on Ralf Schumacher).

So might as well be Coulthard @ Bahrain for me.

Still that doesn't make it a great drive, more great strategy. It's like you said about Sato, he didn't make it happen, it just happened for him.

He was 10 seconds faster than the next fastest car on lap 3. ;-)

Spyker/Winkelhock deserve a mention at least for making the "obvious choice of the year" starting on wets.
