True, but the mp4/20 was an absolute beast in Monza, so if those elements help a bit, it's already good...though, there were no Horns on the Italian spec of the mp4/20 so I guess the point is almost moot ;)

Seriously, who needs of downforce at Monza? ;)

Does anyone know the cars straightline speed in this test?

Probably something stupid like 335 Kph. In 2005 Montoya got around 375 Kph...

be similar to last year. about 340. in the race i think someone got 348 in slipstream. montoya got to 369 not 375. but in champcar he once had a 242mph (387km/h) lap...average.

Well... you defenitly want some downforce at Monza. Not much, but enough to get through Curve di Lesmo, Variante Ascari, Parabolica. Otherwise you gonna be very very slow around these corners ;)

Avg speed around 252 km/h
Max speed around 345 km/h

Record pole lap is in hands of Barrichello(2004) I believe. Even better than the stunning lap of Montoya back in 2002.

I think Antonio Pizzonia got 369km/h (Williams) in 2004 and Jacques Villeneuve was the one in '05 tests for Monza GP to reach 375km/h (Sauber). I can confirm it but that's what I remember the brazilian tv reported in those days.

I like the Monza spec cars too. I mean, this is the fastest race of the year and they get close to the limit all the time ;)! Just looking forward to the race... I hope Massa win this one :)

Cheers!

Kimi reached 372KPH in 2004, in the race, of course, and about montoya, that is false, the record is by Gil De Ferran still by 241.428 mph in 2000

I'm quite sure Montoya and Kimi got higher than 370 kph in 2005. I remember Luciano Burti mentioning it during the race and qualifying.

Montoya got 372 before the first chicane in Monza in 2005. Kimi did 371.

They're also missing the little wings on top of the radiator intakes. Yay! Probably just for Monza though.
