#1 Alonso
#2 Hamilton

Agreed there, but I reckon it'll almost without a doubt be
#3 Raikkonen
#4 Massa

I reckon Fisi will be at Renault for another year if he stays ahead of Heikki. If not, then he'll go.

Other than that I agree with you, cept Vettel would get #20 and Bourdais #21 since Bourdais would be new for 2008.

Since Speed's looking at America, I reckon Liuzzi will try for Prodrive, maybe Klien as well, seems to be moving around a bit? Is Paffett still gonna be a McLaren tester?

well driver numbers are sometimes randomly assigned within teams, it's not always based on who has been at the team longer. when Rubens joined Honda for '06, he had no.11 and JB had 12, even though JB had been with the team for a few years.

we're more interested in who will be in each team than which number they will use.

They should go back to letting them have any number, though this is logical.

As it happens the two numbers I would like JB to be would either be #6 or #7 :D

And he is #7 this year, though its not being a very lucky number for him is it :(

Also, imagine Kimi with the #27 on the nose of his Ferrari :D:D:D! Who was the last Ferrari driver to have it ? wasnt it Berger or Alesi?

Alesi, IIRC. i'm sure he had no. 27 when he won his only GP at Montreal, the track named after Gilles and using his number.

I read somewhere that Rosberg may leave from Williams and Alonso from McLaren.
About Rosberg there no much info (where he may go...) and about Alonso that he is connectet with BMW for '08.
P.S. This is not confirmend

And won't be confirmed either. It's another bit of crap from a journalists pen.

Perhaps Alonso will leave McLaren in 2008 and will return to Renault. Honda confirmed its actual drivers for the next year. Raikkonen has 3 more years in Ferrari. Ralf Schumacher could not be in Toyota in 2008(i´m not sure, i think Ralf is pretty good but who knows?).

Ralf is hopeless but has a contract for next year at least.

People thinking Ferrari will switch one of their drivers to bring in another are totally off. Alonso nor Hamilton will go there next year, so any speculation on that is totally moot. The only serious doubts IMO is Renault, McLaren, Williams and BMW, though it could be said that McLaren will most likely keep the same lineup, so that would make Renault and BMW finalized also, only leaving Williams to be confirmed.

i agree, it's probably 99.99999995 certain that both McLaren and Ferrari will have the same drivers as this season. whatever happened at Hungary, i doubt either McLaren driver would want to switch to another team because of it. they have probably the best chance to win races and a championship where they are. and the Ferrari drivers are probably locked into a multi-million dollar multi-year contract too.

The Ferrari info is not probable, it is 100% accurate. Kimi signed a 3 year contract and Massa a 2 year contract. So both drivers are already confirmed for 2008 and Kimi is already confirmed for 2009.

Number 7 has never been kind to British drivers. Mansell in 95, Coulthard in 98 (although not too bad a year), Hill in 99. Funny that the respective team mates in number 8 cars have reverse fortunes, (except Barrchello this year), funny these little co-incidences that happen in F1!

As for the number 27 on a Ferrari, i remember in 1990 when Prost was champion so Senna in the McLaren used the 27 on his mclaren instead...looked strange seeing that 27 on a different car!

Yeah, that was very unusual, Ferrari had #27 & #28 for so long period (1981-1995, except 1990, I think)

P.S. Thx mikef1, I totaly forget about 1980 ;)

In 1980 the Ferrari's had the numbers 1 and 2 because Jody Schekter won the championship in 1979.

Gord, I believe #7 was very kind to to Sir Stirling :D

And indeed funny coincidences, if not strange lol!

But grr, ive wanted JB to have the #7 for abit, then when he does, Honda goes and screws it up :p!
