Its in Autosport, I think the team could have done better tbh.

Sakon Yamamoto will race for the Spyker F1 team in the remaining seven Grands Prix of the season, autosport.com understands.

The Japanese driver, who raced for Super Aguri last year in 11 rounds, will replace Christijan Albers, who was let go by Spyker before last weekend's European Grand Prix.

The 25-year-old is currently racing in the GP2 Series with BCN while he continues acting as Super Aguri's test driver.

Yamamoto is set to be officially confirmed at Spyker in the next few days

The dentist doesn't choose people based on ability.

Don't really remember how well he performed last year, I think he might have been average? I'm happy though, only because I like his helmet design :)

Oh dear. Albers....Yamamoto....can't really see a huge improvement to be honest.

It won't be an improvement. It's clearly a commercial move. Were people expecting a driver picked purely on ability?

Klien wasn't as desirable as he was before, he doesn't have Red Bull's money backing him now. Obviously Yamamoto has a wad of cash pushing him along.

i thought someone like Karthikeyan might have been in with a shout. he was competent, if not fast, and clearly can bring money with him.

what a shame.

Klien is actually quick.

And Narain is pretty quick and has good potential and one I would love to see back in f1.

Just looked on f1racing, and its confirmed.

lol, this is a joke, replace one shite driver with one whos even @#$%&.

Niceone Spyker. Thing is, the money they gain from him will go towards fixing the damage repairs ;)

Musical chairs at Spyker, well they don't have a decent budget so that's the end result sadly.

Why oh why oh why pick Yamashito?! Surely both Klien and Karthikeyan have more potential.

Why are people crying that Spyker didn't choose Klien? The reason Spyker fired Albers was because he didn't pay, so someone with a load of cash would be the obvious choice.

pmsl........ lmao...... really? oh dear, might as well have stuck with Albers.

I was at silverstone last year n he went off at becketts in friday practice. He rolled around the tarmac run off a couple times, trying to work out where he was going n when he rejoined he missed the side of a williams by about an inch!

Seriously though, is this a step forward or backwards?!

Klien isn't that great, I don't know what people are talking about ;)

Should have stuck with the Germans

Klien reminds me of Massa, quick but usually going off the road, but look at Massa now, if Klien can sort those things out he can be very good, his speed is unquestionable

I didn't think Klien was that quick, unfortunately. But I do hope he'll pull a Felipe Massa and turn good

They've replaced their only driver that has ever lead a lap, started (a restart) on pole with Yamamoto?

I want them to keep Winklehock!
