Hmm, hard to tell what car that it. I like trying to work it out though. ;-) I'd guess....the main part of the 2004 Renault?!

It felt like a Tire....

What else would a tire feel like?

Seriously though, yeah, looks like the R24 in the new livery (Oddly enough.... Kinda lame on their part IMO)

Any idea on why there is just a random F1 car there? Backstory please :D

i live in a very unkown city in the world, the car should have been in the capital(Damascus)but there were a problem there,so they send it to my city Lattakia,to be shown for three days in the Renault show Gallery.
it was a pure coinsidence to be in my city, and a pure coinsidence to be seen by my friend.
and u know, they allways send old cars to crappy countries.
i don't care,i would love it,even if it was the 1997 Ferrari.

I quite enjoy the R24 BTW. It looks really nice.

BUT, to repaint it to make it look like the new car (What is it now, the R28?) is just cheesy. Understandable, but cheesy.

...and also very common. I distinctly remember going to a small summmer fete on Canvey Island in '96, and seeing an MP4-10 painted up like the MP4-11. I got into an argument with some 'expert' who insisted it was the '96 car, but couldn't explain why it didn't have raised cockpit sides ;)

Memories,i remmeber the sheer happiness at seeing the 96 mclaren launched and not having to see the 95 car on track ever again!

Mclaren really redeemed themselves with that car.

there are many more pics, and about 20 inside the cockpit
because me and my friend spiro allways had a fight on the drivers abiltiy to see
i say its too low,and he say that drivers can see pretty cleary.
and we tried very hard to guess the mirror view,i wonder how driver can see through them, the earo package are completey blocking the way with the rear wing.

They had an R25 (at least I think it was) up in Newcastle last night, and next week at Morpeth, doing a 'Renault themed night', including a 'simulator' so 3 of us VaderTrophy guys, and a BREASTS guy (another league) went along for a laugh. The simulator, rather disappointingly, turned out to be 6 networked PCs with F1 2002 on them... with full traction control and braking assistance on them. Shame, cos we'd have murdered the playstation generation had it been set up properly :P

In the end Graham won, and Kev (Skel) finished 3rd, so it was nice. Ken Murray and myself didn't qualify for the final. Ken because I took him out(!) and me because I hit a car on sat on the start/finish straight on lap 2 (does F1 2002 need a minimum number of cars or something?) and flipped into the pitlane... :D

If we go to the Morpeth one I'll take the camera along this time. :)
