So I was watching the last 4 or so laps of the 1992 Monaco GP on YouTube with commentary from Muzza, and at the end after Senna won he blew his engine and Murray said "...and I think Senna has blown his engine as he does."

Can anyone explain what Muzza meant from this? Surely it wasn't some kind of ritual for Senna to blow his engine after each victory?!

It was not a ritual. That was Murray corrupting the English language again.

Murray bless 'im - sometimes best to take things he says with a pinch of salt ;)

But we loved him for it

Murray's list of gaffs and funny quotes are endless but he was the best.

I think he said something like : "... and Ayrton Senna wins at Monaco [...] and I think he has blown his engine as he does so."

Makes a little more sense :p

Senna's engine just smoked a little going up the hill to Casino Square on the run-down lap. I did look at the time as if it were dying, but it continued to work. :)

Put simply, don't trust narrators who make technical comments ;)
