A shame Alonso missed the pole because my prediction contest for the time and guy on pole would have been right, well the time close :p and i wanted FA on pole, but i have no doubt he will win today, i dont think lewis has it in him yet to be FA here.

Silverstone i hope he does, odds WERE 12-1 i think... And I put £20 pre season. :D

if hamilton gets to the first corner first and keeps the lead till the 1st stop i see no reason whatsoever that he shouldnt be able to win. alonso is not going to overtake him and risk taking both mclarens out. the only way he doesnt win imo is reliability or ig mxclaren "botch" his pit stop.

This isnt Monaco.

If alonso is quicker he will get past, likewise with any other driver on the grid if they are quicker than someone in front of them.

Alonso is not going to think, oh well, first corner gone and im second, lets try stay in the posistion for the rest of the 60 odd laps then is he.

Nothing.
A repeat of Monaco wont happen... You can overtake here without too much difficulty.

At Monaco Ron prevented both drivers trying to race each other because the risk was far too great, here, the risk is so much lower, still high, but thats racing.

Like in Monaco im sure there will be an agreement abotu the start procedure, but from then on, I'd say they will be free to race.

What will be interesting to see is whether Nick holds the two Ferraris up, or if he can keep a steady gap.

And also its obvious that the super softs are not the tyre to be on... so how will the teams go about strategys knowing after not many laps, those tyres are hell to be racing on.

Alonso wont stay behind Hamliton if hes faster. You can easily outbrake someone into the last chicane here. And I dont think Ron Dennis telling Alonso not to pass Hamilton will stop him from doing so today.

Ron has stated that Monaco would be the only race to impose those kind of orders because of the nature of the track, it won't happen here.
It will be fascinating to watch the Mclarens as their two drivers are going to push each other to the edge for sure and even a small mistake can result in a big loss of time or a bad crash in places.

I LOVE Montreal for its unpredictablility come race day. Every single year in Canada there is an unexpected performance :) This year I reckon we'll see Nick Heidfeld grab 2nd place.

Alonso and Lewis to take each other out at the first corner, Nick to sneak through and claim his first win....

I really hate how everyone is so negative about Mclaren.

1) Monaco was a case of common sense. After 2002 did we say that Ferrari would use team orders every race?

2)Lewis didn't ask for the ITV coverage, and he earned a pole at a track he's never raced at before. It doesnt matter if he crashes off in the first lap, its an acheivement. I wish people would quit being so critical.

Would you expect anything different from ITV?

wow, on TSN's prerace show, Hamilton just compared his level of competitiveness with Alonso to that of the Senna-Prost rivarly at Mclaren. I thought he was a humble kid, but he's already putting himself with the 2 of this sport's greatest.
