I read news here and there about McLaren simulator at Woking.
Has anyone already seen pictures of it that can be shared?
Is it a sort of video game? What is it really?

It has been used since the centre of tech was first unveiled.

Montoya used it a lot, but Raikkonen didn't because he got dizzy with it.

I got to go in something like this at the Milton Keynes shopping centre a few years ago. It was some promo by Boss there. The simualator puts you in the cockpit of the front half of a McLaren chassis and I got 3 laps round Silverstone. Think I was 18th out of all the people that took part. No idea though if this is the same as the one you are on about. Show me some pics and I'll be able to confirm it or not.

i doubt the one the drivers use will be the same as they allow mere peasants to use in a shopping centre :)

Grr I is not a peasant. Anyway it was some Boss comp and OK it wouldn't have been the same but it would have been fairly similar.

Kimi actually didn't use it because he didn't got any advantage from it .he thinks that testing on track is more important and that's true.

i'm sure it's not used instead of actual driving on a track, it's just for when they can't run on a track for whatever reason, and it probably doesn't cost anything in comparison to real on-track running. every little helps, especially if you've moved to another team like Alonso, if it helps you get used to the car.

Of course it's true, I doubt you'll find anyone who could even remotely think a simulator can train a driver up no matter how good it is. Simulators will never ever come close to driving the real thing. The only thing I feel you could learn from a simulator are the tracks, where the corners are and maybe a rough idea of where the braking points are.

Online simulators can improve race craft and simulators in general can help teach people who have no idea about car handling in general but that's about it imo.

JV was famous for using playstation and pc games to learn tracks.

Danni Minougue dumped him for playing WoW or something similar, wait it was Dungeons and Dragons too much. LOL!

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it
