Well I thought that bit was slightly obvious, so I left it out.

One sponsor? They don't have any do they, just 'partners' who are contributing to the donations?
Well,it isn´t that bad at all. But, i gotta know if this livery will work for the purposes they are intending.Looks too "carnivale", many mixed colors, will the sponsors get identified?Or they will be placed in the black engine cover?
The earth graphics are directly painted at the bodywork or it´s some kind of printed vinyl adhesive or something else?Does somenone knows about it?

From what I've read, it's some sort of vinyl. From close up it also looks a bit low res in some areas.

Good initiative, very original livery idea, but they should have put more thought into how they did this. It sounds like a very difficult livery to maintain, and is a bit over the top.

Im still confused, why does it take 2 threads (and yet more in the GP4 sect) to talk about Hondas livery?

there will be no other sponsor logos, what we see today is what the car will be like, give or take maybe some tiny changes. but no other sponsors logos will be added to the black part, as far as we know, because that's what they have said themselves.

@ Chet, this thread is here because the author didn't know there was another thread already about this car, see his first sentence:

"Feel free to kill this off if there is already a thread, but I haven't seen one yet. "

and we always get more threads in the GP4 section because some people in there don't read the F1 forum, so they have their own discussion in the GP4 forum.

As long as they manage to create an image of Honda as a company interested in environmentally friendly technologies there's a huge market open to them.

It may cost them a lot, but the potential gains are even bigger.

Well if you read other websites and press releases and not just speculate. You will find that Honda's current sponsors are still with the team and backing this innovation. They don't have their names on the car but they are still sponsors and pay the team. Also about the actually livery itself. If you visit the website shown on the rear wing and make a donation you will have your name on the car. It will only be 1 pixel though and you would need a microscope to see it... apparently

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, many people are making joke about honda, but with global heating and close ending and limitations of natural resources discussions and concernings, honda is being very smart, cause like tripleM said, the marketing potential about those issues will be the main matter pretty soon. While people are here having an probable nowhere discussion about this livery, honda is making their way to make money!A lot of money!;)
And their first goal has been achieved, since everybody is talking about this livery, making many people just forget about the other teams for a while. What an great PR action!;)

BMWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH!!!!!! THIS is the new Honda livery? OMFG...At university my minor was in Geography and I hold a certificate in Geographic Information Systems, and even though I use maps and satellite imagery on a daily basis I can honestly say thats the most pathetic livery I have ever seen on a racing car in my life!

My God, it even makes some of the NASCAR cartoon-like liveries seem like masterpieces in comparison. It looks as if someone vomited pea soup on the nose of the car and then they took it out for a few laps without hosing it off!

This is baaaaad. Honda could have demonstrated their "green" commitment in any number of ways, why this travesty?

Can't the FIA mandate something more traditional?

I'm divided... for me it's like the Andy Warhol painting of a tin of soup. Yes - it's a masterpiece of ingenuity and style in an age of faceless corporate colours - but at the same time, it's a hideous, messy and non-aesthetic livery for a car that is the complete antithesis of the desired message.

It looks like someone's swallowed an Atlas and then thrown up all over the car.

They have been slated by just about every environmental group and members of the public.

But at least they are being spoken about, but as normal in the wrong way.
