more like it's disgusting what Honda and Red Bull are doing, it's them who chose this plan of action, not the respective B-teams.

muks i got car names mixxed up lol.. the rb1 and 2 ..

they are not puppets, they are doing this by choice.

i cant understand why van de garde would want to test the spyker, when he could be driving a car based on a former race winner.

of course SA and TR are puppets! they are merely b-teams for the works teams to do what they want with, which in Honda's case is to keep Sato in F1, and in RB's case to run their young drivers before promoting them into the main team (although that theory is out of the window for this season now that DC and Webbo are there).

It looks very similar to the PS04.

How about China this year(team orders from Honda that Button needs to finish higher lol)
All the mistakes he has made and he hasn't lost his super licence yet Ide lost his through not being as bad now that just confuses me

It ain't cheap to run a B-Team y'know... if a team is willing to fork out that kind of cash to find a performance advantage, then what's to stop them? Plus, it fills the grid for us fans. I'd rather see 22 cars with 2 B-Teams than 18 cars and faceless privateers. So what if Super Aguri are using an old Honda car? Their contribution to F1 as eccentric underdogs is invaluable.

If Super Aguri are using last year's Honda, it does not bother me, it's no different from them using the 2002 Arrows for me. Again, if Toro Rosso use the RB2 I see nothing wrong, it's if they use the RB3 where I would be complaining.

Lol! There have been lots of other drivers who have been as bad if not worse, Andrea De Cesaris for one and even Eddie Irvine had some brain in neutral moments.
Tbh apart from China, Sato generally did a good job last year.

er, the way i understand it, TR are using the exact same car as the RB3, just changed slightly to fit the Ferrari engine as opposed to the Renault that fits in the Red Bull RB3.

Aguri are using a year-old car, while TR are using the current car.

from the story about Frank Williams protesting about customer cars on the BBc site:

"Both teams have yet to unveil their cars ahead of the season opener in Melbourne on 18 March but Super Aguri are expected to base their car on last year's Honda while the Toro Rosso will copy Red Bull's RB3."

so Count Bazley, time for you to start complaining then?

same for you Sauber89?

@ Chet, Sato was good in some races, silly in others last year, but Aguri what entirely set up to keep him in F1 because the Japanese Honda customers cancelled their Honda roadcar orders when he was dropped from BAR/Honda. the bigwigs sh!t themselves so needed a way to get him back in F1 to appease their lost customers. Aguri Suzuki wanted his own team, so it was a perfect compromise, get Sato in F1 and bring Aguri's name back to F1 with "his" own team.

If the FIA let STR use the RB3, they will lose their last bit of credibility.

they will let them use it, because if one tiny piece of the car is different, the FIA class them as different cars.

there will be massive controversy in Australia, it's inevitable.

as Frank has said, he'd be happy for them to do that, as long as those B-teams who use other peoples cars don't score any points, but they (RB/TR and Honda/Aguri) obviously won't agree with that.

TR already used the '05 Red Bull in '06 because it was Jaguar who designed and built the cars, not Red Bull, so that's how they get round the intellectual property issues, the RB1 was a Jag design, therefore a 3rd party, and not a Red Bull-built car, allowing TR to use it in '06.

RB and TR get round it for '07 because a 3rd party (Red Bull Technologies) designed and built both teams' cars, so technically TR won't be driving a Red Bull hand-me-down, they will be driving a Red Bull Tech car.

Aguri get round it because the Honda was designed by the now defunct BAR, and not Honda. it's all these silly legal things that bring us to this sad situation, IMO.

as Frank W said, if you don't build your own car, how can you claim constructors points, you're not a constructor?

why are people annoyed by all this? STR and Aguri are B teams and its not as if they will challenge for the title anyway.....we need more teams in F1, let less. I dont care with what they compete, could be a shopping trolley .

If the main teams would be able challenge for the titles, why wouldn't the B teams if they have the same car?

Because they only have the car and not the necessary resources to develop it during the season

Can someone tell me, is it just the exterior RB will provide to STR?

Will STR develop their own suspension and things?
