I love the new safety car idea. Should make for more exciting restarts instead of the anti-climax ones we have had recently (Canada etc).

Ferrari’s request to supply two teams with engines in the 2008 championship has been accepted.

I don't like the SC system at all. I liked when the race was stopped and after another start (not rolling start).

Also the time the drivers were behind the leader were added to their total race time.

I think SC is too unfair, too Nascar / Indy style.

i like the new SC rules, it always seemed silly to allow lapped cars to be between those on the lead lap, then making the drivers on the lead lap wait till crossing the line to pass them.

however, the point of the SC is to slow everyone down, so when the lapped cars pass the leaders, they will then just drive quickly round the lap to join the back, sort of defeating the object.

I liked the lights on cars panel, this is a big improvement on safety. Like it has in GP3/4.

SC rules are good.
Saves poeple getting @#$%& over by backmarkers.

Ie. the lead car behind saftey car has a 3car (backmarkers) advantage over second place. It sucks.

But wont it make the race a little bit more action packed? More drivers closer to eachother means more action

Yes they could! Or didn't you read the part on engine changes? Teams will be able to change the engines on friday without penalty if they feel the engine is damaged or won't finish the race. They can't change it on saturday/sunday.

Either way, I like all new rules. Surprised that there wasn't any comments on the calendar so far that is fixed on 17 races. At least, no more track juggling in Gp4 to choose which tracks to race

Bernie plays GP4, thats why he put 17 tracks only :D

@ Senna, yes i like the change of rule regarding the SC, but doesn't it seem odd that some cars can pass it then drive at full speed round the rest of the track to join the back of the queue?

they will need some sort of rule to make sure those lapped cars that pass drive at limited speed round the track.

and they've been talking about putting those lights on their dashboard for years.

im pretty happy with most of those rules, the only one that annoys me is the 2 race rule on he engines and penalties for gear box changes.

The lights on the dash is a good idea but i think it could take away the drama of someone being held up by a back marker at an importan moment in a race.
