So you're admitting that you ignored one of the best races in F1 in modern times? A race that had overtaking pretty much race long, a race that had everything except rain. It didn't even need rain!

And you pal Rubens was exceptional. Fastst man out there by a mile, and very cunning in the way he setup his overtaking moves.... meanwhile Mr Schumacher was making a meal out of being behind Villeneuve's BAR when everyone else were overtaking left right and center.

For a 24 yr old who's been watching F1 for 2 decades, you very often seem to have a flawed knowledge ot it :P

what the hell? ive been waiting and waiting, and still no penalty for alonso? shorely this cant be allowed, im sure ferrari will have a chat to the fia for the race tomorrow and come up with something to get schumacher ahead illegally.

i hope alonso wins tomorrow and schumacher crashes at the first corner, then it will be hard for ferrari to come up with dodgy stuff for the last 2 races. schumacher might have trouble keeping the fast starting bmws behind him at the start, but that might not be too hard if he is light on fuel as i suspect.

If its a wet race imo it will be Button and Alonso at the front... I cant imagine GF or Rubens challenging them...

I wouldn't be so sure. If it's wet it will be un-predictable. But you shouldn't forget that both Barrichello and Fisichella are pretty handy in wet conditions.

PRESS CONFERENCE.

Q: What happened to the beard, Fernando?
FA:
It’s gone, gone for qualifying: less weight. I hope it makes me quicker.

LOL! ;)

Ha Ha! Now someone should tell Button to do the same!
Great qualy imo, great laps by Alonso, Fisi and Schumi and good to see both Honda's up there too.
I don't care if it's wet, dry or both tomorrow as long as there is some good racing going on.

Button looks like a pikey with that scruffy looking ginger beard.

Great result for Renault, even greater for Ferrari haha

Do the business tomorrow Fernando and get one hand the WDC trophy

So will Albers penalty send him right to the back, leaving Massa 20th?

Thanks, I can never work out what penalties apply when nowadays...

The weather this weekend is probably similar to what we'll see in Japan and Brazil, so it could be curtains for Ferrari now

The penalties are given in order. If MS gets an engine change on Friday and Alonso on Saturday, MS will get his penalty first and then Alonso.

So THAT'S why Hill only won 3 WDC's.

Anyway, who thinks Schumi's gone light - given the laptime seems much quicker than the lap actually looked

Schumacher is very good in the rain. He just pulled some amazing laps there. I wish Ayrton Senna was there, heh...conditions looked prime for him to own everyone there ;)

I know he's good in the rain, but the car looked like it was on and ice-rink out there. And Ayrton would own this current crop of drivers in any conditions

hmm we shouldnt start this... say something we have no idea could be true... but i'll agree :P

MS's really was amazing... everyone else bar Alonso, Button had their cars sliding... to me it looked as though MS, FA and JB immediatly knew the limit and where the grip was.

But i shouldnt compare FA's and Buttons lap to MS's because they didnt blow me away like MS's did.

I would have added RB but he's been all over, all weekend and I suspect is a few laps shorter than JB, if not Kudos to him.

Since when has Hill been a 3 time world champion?
Graham Hill was a double world champion, Damon a one time, Phil Hill one time.

Schumacher might have gone lighter than he might have otherwise wanted to go, But I don't think he would have gone too light. Overtaking is possible at China, a fact he will be well aware of, and such he'd realize that there is little need to compromise his strategy in the event of a dry race.

Sorry, I thought Graham won 3 - but his other acheivments (5 Monaco wins, 1 Indy 500, 1 Le Mans 24Hr) are almost worth a third.

And I don't think Schumi went too light, just maybe 2 or 3 laps to get a couple of positions, because I couldn't see even him putting in that wet performance

I just want to understand why people think this was a good qualifying session...we knew the pole from the first 10 minutes, and the rain actually screwd up the grid for this one in a bad way, since most teams were unable to react to it and drove pretty crappy laps. Best qual sessions this year were Monza and Silverstone I think...constant battle for pole all the way through, etc...

Alonso 1st, Kimi 2nd, Schumi 4th, Fisichella 5th!

(my prediction not taking into consideration any engine blow ups ;))
