Damon Hill

Grand Prix: 122
World Championships: 1
Wins: 22
Podiums: 42
Pole Positions: 20
Fastest laps: 19

Team(s): Brabham, Williams, Arrows, Jordan

---

Jenson Button

Grand Prix: 114
World Championships: 0
Wins: 1
Podiums: 14
Pole Positions: 3
Fastest laps: 0

Team(s) Williams, Benetton/Renault, BAR/Honda

---

The Statistics speak for themselves.

As for Hill having the best car for much of his career, well that is true, but as proven by Fisichella (in comparison to Alonso) at Renault, having the best car is useless if at the end of the day you’re not good enough to make the most of it. And they’ve had the same man to beat, and since Schumacher was unbeaten from 2000 – 2004, I don’t think there is any disgrace in coming runner up to him twice 94/95 before winning in 96.

Basically James Allen, when he isn’t climaxing, speaks out of his arse.

Yeah, and Jordan's best car ever could only manage 2 wins in that very same year. It proves nothing, as Dave said.

After reading JA's thoughts, the last comment made me go "Aww, bless". Davidson gets married on Friday, hope the day goes well for him!

its hard to win any gp ask the man who lost the 1995 championship in the best car.

That will be the next question now "when will u win the next race" lol

give the guy a break he done a great job on sunday, he won a hard race and in the past when he looked like he had the pace and could win he never. Its how it works out

Jackie Stewart tells us though that JB is a future world champion...

well Hill only means for the rest of this season and possibly next, Jackie means anytime in the future (next 8-10 years).

James Allen or Jackie Stewart shouldn't say that JB can be a world champion as that's going to put a lot of pressure onto his sholders from the British media. No doubt, in the right car and with a lot of luck (which most drivers need to win) JB can win a championship.

Can't really compare JB to DH as they drove at different times and in different equiptment.

As for Damon Hill almost winning the Hungarian GP back in '97, H-H Frentzen in the Willaims Renault should of won that one but he was punted off earlier in the race due to no fault of his own.

to be fair,Button could have won the 2004 German gp,if it wasn't for his engine change.

I was able to see the race from itv and I have to say that ITV would be the best F1 boradcaster without James Allen ;)

yeah, give Davidson the job full-time. Let's face it, he's never going to have anything else to do on the Sunday... Leave Allen in the pitlane where he belongs.

All I know is, after finally seeing an ITV clip of the race (We get Speed TV), James Allen sounded a little too excited. I laughed when I first heard it.
