That's the news from the media today here in Melbourne. Channel 7 (free to air TV) has put pressure on the V8 Supercars not to appear at the F1GP in 07 because of scheduling problems, apparently Barbagallo Raceway Western Australia is scheduled to run a week later so the GP won't happen. As for the celebrity race, the contract is up for grabs and so far BMW has shown no interest in providing the vehicles for next years event. But, and this is interesting, my mate who is a top-gun powder coater rang me today to say he was painting 36 roll cages for cars. These cars, (he doesn't know yet what they are but he's going to find out, he says he's going to the workshop tomorrow, and sneak some camera-phone pics) have some sort of body paint defect and cannot be sold to the public so the rumour is that they will be used for the celebrity race. Intersting, more news as I get it :-)

Was a litte peeved about the V8 thing

the more on track action we get the better and the V8's always have a prang or to, they make the waiting for the F1's a little bit easier

You going down this year Mortal?

Wait, Channel 7? What does Channel 7 have to do with that? Doesn't channel 10 have the rights or did 7 win them for next season?

Yup, Channel 7 threw out a bucketload of money for the rights.

In response, i believe Ten has signed on to broadcast next years Rugby World Cup, while 7 will continue with domestic tests. Ten may also pick up delayed Super 14 games
