Mini Maestro:
they were already full when the race started.
but Ferrari didn't loose thier touch, they still have that superpowers to make F1 as boring as possible.
see the replay,u can see each lap how many ppl are leaving.

i dont see a problem even if massa slowed down alonso slowed down to let fissi pass as well.

Its not ferrari that made the race boring it was the other teams not getting their cars sorted, and probably michelin playing it safe. Loosing so many cars on the 1st lap really did not help sometimes i wish they would restart the race so drivers can get in the spare car

Up until a few years ago the race probably would have been restarted, it was no different from Canada '98, infact there were a lot more cars involved yesterday.

Mini and Jap - actually come to think of it... Im annoyed at Honda. If they put JB on a longer strategy, why did they not rubens? :S And the Honda in JB's hands was quicker in practise over longer runs, just over 1 lap it is quite clear Rubens owns him.

And jap i will admit when there is sufficient evidence. Ie. a 2car finish, no compramises. Until now the only base we have is Catalyna ;-)

edit - doesnt it cost more money to run a restart?

About that Mclaren incident, if you watch the replay closely, Kimi's getting shut out into turn 3, so he could do nothing but brake, Montoya didn't notice, so ploughed into the back of him.

I don't think blame can be placed squarely on the shoulders of Montoya for that. Button was alongside Kimi for position, and there isn't really more than one line through turn 3 for the next one looking at how it sweeps round. Still, montoya should have been more observant but oh well. Last time I remember seeing that many cars smash out in the first lap was Spa 98, but I've had a huge break in my watching f1 between then and last year, soooo I dunno tbh :P

Sato back on form, but I'm not sure that was his fault either really. Dunno, didn't get a good look at the replay.

Alonso struggling all weekend, balance just wasn't there. Comes in for a pistop and picks up buckets of oversteer. And wtf is this problem with putting more front wing on and getting more understeer? That's just nuts

Not a bad race really, could have been worse anyway

Yeah i agree Zep. I also thought that the grandstands were unusually empty this year, i have never seen so many vacant seats since the race started in 2000.

Reported attendance for Sunday was almost 130 000 people.

From memory, it's about the same or even better than 2005.

Only 8 cars finished the Australian GP of 2002. 6 cars retired immediately after Ralf Schumacher launched his car over Ruben's Ferrari. Probably the best T1 in recent years.

Can anyone remember how many finished in 98 just out of interest? I know that at least half the field couldn't do the second start cos there's only the one T car...

Yeah, he come to pits for a stop and go penalty, and if I remember right he did actually finish the race before he even stopped to his pit slot to take the penalty.
Nice loophole in the rules back then. :P

did you say that when Alonso won from start to finish and didn't have to pass anyone and nothing else happened?

did you call some of those races boring? or are you only calling it boring because MS/ferrari won?
