Britain's last Formula 1 world champion Damon Hill could make a return to active duty in July when the high-profile DTM touring car series visits Brands Hatch.
Hill, who won the world title with Williams in 1996 before quitting the sport at the end of 1999, could perform a number of demo laps in one of the 450bhp beasts when the Kent circuit stages a round of the DTM series for the first time on June ½.
"DTM is very interesting," said Hill.
"The cars are quick, spectacular and on a high level. It's just great that such a top-class racing series will make a stop in England. There is no comparable series all around the world.
"The grid is varied and that's what makes DTM that thrilling.
Former F1 aces, two women, young guns and a lot of other truly quick racing professionals."
Hill ruled out a return to racing in the series but added that he may well get back behind the wheel again for the fans.
"Forget it, not at my age," he said of a racing return.
"I retired from Formula One to have more time for my family. But I will do some demonstration laps, at the latest on July 2 when I'll be back in Brands Hatch."
I think someone needs to proof read the ITV-F1 website.
