look at page 32.... an entry form for 2008 championship, i think we should all club together to get the $300,000 entry fee up and then fund our own team! ;)

one other thing i noticed... page 36 says no police allowed on the podium :| so a cop wants to go onto the podium, someone'll stop him?! surely they can't stop that happening?

wow... they went from a 100,000$ new team fee in 1992 (Andrea Moda argued this I remember), to 46 million lately........ and back to 300,000$ :D they are going in the right direction if they want new teams thats for sure.

the other 45,700,000$ can go on actually making the cars... lol

isnt 46 million only that "deposit money" ? ;)

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

Yes, but it has now been removed. And it was $48m.

The notable things about the 2008 regs are:

* Applications to the 2008 Championship must be lodged between 24-31st March inclusive
* Entry Bond reduced from $48m deposit to one-off payment of

Tyre rules and those weight penalties sounds cool!

But that safety car rule is weird.. If safetycar comes to track because of crash and those cars what was in that crash needs to be fixed also they will get penalty from it? :S

If they do like NASCAR, the lead-lap drivers will be able to pit on lap 1 of the safety car period... then the people -1 lap on lap 2... then the people -2 laps on lap 3.....

... at this rate, Super Aguri won't be able to pit till AFTER the safety car is back in the pits... lol

the weight penalty is silly - they're reducing the minimum weight of the cars to avoid them using ballast because it was considered dangerous.... then they're going to hand out ballast now as a penalty?!

they're releasing the entries and RACE NUMBERS for 2008 next month?! so i'm guessing the driver who wins the 2007 championship won't have #1 then if they're already allocating numbers...? seems a little strange...

They might do this

provisional entry list
#1/2 Renault
#7/8 McLaren

if McLaren wins in 2007 for example...
#1/2 McLaren
#7/8 Renault

why can't they just do it based on the previous season's results, like they do now? why do we all need to know right now what numbers each team will have from 2008 onwards?

I agree. It is a little pointless.

Will it be the same 11 teams? or is there rumors of new teams?

sp it costs 300,000, theres a limit to 12 teams, and applications are next week?
so someone with a little bit of lots of money could snap up all 12, then sell them on ebay?

Tyre warmers banned and weights sound good.
pitlane should only be open at certain times anyway - a couple of 6 lap pit wondows per race so everyones on similar strategies. would create some fun pit time

Some of these does sound good, but 2008 will be the year that I'll stop watching F1. Wierd rear wings, wierder regulations...it's starting to bug me a lot all these regulation changes...I can't wait to see when they say engines have to last for six races...we'll have cars running at 250km/h :P

i disagree, F1 is meant to be the pinacle of motorsport, fair enough having some of these rules lower down, but in F1 they should say replacing anything during 1 race results in penalty, these 4 race rules are stupid, closing pits is stupid too, an on the balls team can make a load of time up here, your taking away much of the tactical element there

the rules there arent the worst that they've come up with, but i still dont think they are that great.

oh and we should aim for 30 car grids tbh, then see them complaining about traffic :D

next they'll be saying grandstands must be a mile away, trackside cameras operated by remote control, and the drivers insulated with bubble wrap. and no corners. they only go right the way across america from one side to the other.

15kg ballast for the NEXT RACE is a better idea that a 10-place grid penalty, but it's still not fully detracting from the issue of one weekend having a cumulative effect on the Championship.

What's the bet that all the teams enter a "gentleman's agreement" that the whole field change engines before a GP, and everyone take the ballast penalty equally? :)

...

Just thought actually - if a driver has a penalty in Race 1, and incurs a 15kg penalty, and then has a problem again in Race 2, does it mean he'll carry 30kg ballast since the engines are supposed to last 2 races?

maybe at the start of a season, but if 2 teams are fighting for the championship at the last race, you can bet one team will go against it to try to win...

Where does it say it has to be? This is one of the sentences people keep saying but apparently nobody knows why. Not that I disagree in general with what it tries to say, only the formulatioin is evey bit as weird as saying "F1 is meant to be pink".
