Hi guys,
I suppose that many of you already know the "Circuit de Catalunya" web page, but it is amazing the information they give of the F1 tests that took place there. Times, fast lap sequence, lap times for all of the laps...

Take a look if you haven't done it yet...

I was there last year twice and the April tests are quite funny. The main screens plays past races, the F1 shops works quite well and there're a lot of people for 5

This is the last test.

Some of the teams will now want to see how fast they can 'really' go.

Will be interesting too see where the new Toyota places, compared to the others.

"Trulli was slowing down like he wanted to have a picnic" LOL

Hopefully Sato doesnt bury his Super 'Aguri' into some tire barriers as that probably isnt as pleasureable as it might sound :P

3 laps and it's gone :)

They still have 17 days and 20 hours more or less to put it to 2006 rules.

the front wing looked high enough though so maybe they have changed it

Mark Webber set the pace this morning at the Circuit de Catalunya as Williams, McLaren, Red Bull and Midland were joined by Super Aguri for the first time. Webber completed the most mileage of any driver this morning covering 44 laps - his best in 1m17.699s. Kimi Riakkonen was second fastest at the lunch break with a lap of 1m18.540s after 35 laps and team mate Montoya was third just 0.3s behind.

Robert Doornbos started the test off for Red Bull putting in 24 laps this morning to finish ahead of Tiago Monteiro in the Midland car.

However, all eyes were on Super Aguri as Takuma Sato compelted three shakedown laps. His best lap was 1m30.244 - but the Japanese driver has only been beginning the team's system checks. He is expected to cover many more miles this afternoon when there will be a better indication of how well the modified 2002 Arrows chassis can do.

yes your right it was just the angle i saw it at.

Williams look really strong, they never tend to go well in spain so this is a good sign.

What was the fastest qualifying lap time last year? Was it a 1:13:6?

Last year it was 1'14''7 (Trulli), while 1'13''5 is the (unofficial) track record (Button April 2005, one month before the GP)

Yes, but he was probably using the illegal second fuel tank at the time ;-)

JPM had a transmission failure.

Webber broke down, not sure why at the moment.

Nico had an engine failure so all his laps were done in the rain in the afternoon.

Sato had a hydraulic leak after 3 laps, they fixed it and he went out in the afternoon but after 4 laps he spun, didn't collect anything though.
