This winter we heard loads of stupid stories about F1/Teams/Drivers and they are coming out again as the press gets bored during the break.

The best(worst) i think has to be that Ralf's wife was having an affair...and that he was gay!

If anyone else can remember any good/bad ones post them here

one I heard today was that Williams have signed Hakkinen as a test driver for 2003/2004, and that he was going to take over from JPM in 2005 for 2 years :|

I seem to remember someone saying something to me a couple of weeks ago about Michael Schumacher signing a 400-year deal with Ferrari ... now that's fairly silly. ;-)

Hakkinen has said he would never go back to F1. I remeber seeing it on an interview. He does rallying now for fun, like Alan Prost

A recurring story that arises every year in the off-season is that DC is gonna win the championship. Like that'll ever happen!
He defends himself by saying that he has never actually said that at the start of any season, but that the press keep mis-quoting him and saying that he said he's gonna win.

Jenson Button is better than Ralf Schumacher, imo. The fact that he managed to match Michael Schumacher's times at Hungary is just one, good recent example of his pace.

button def. better than ralf schumacher

and he would not be 'slaughtered' by montoya.

look at how he has kept a very fast regarded driver JV at bay.

Yer but its a demotivated JV. It would have been good to see how the JV of 1997 would have handled button. Nowdays Villeneuve seems more interested in politics. Probably cos he spends so much time sitting on the sidelines because of a failiure. Also Button was trashed by Fisico and also beaten by Trulli in terms of overall pace. Ralf proved just as quick as Fisichella when they were together at jordan although fisichella had one season more expereience. The gap average gap was an amazimng 0.048 seconds in quali over the year in fisichellas favour where as JB was almost abouit 5 or 6 tenths of Fisico. Although these cannot really be taken into account as differenet cars suit different drivers.
One other thing about Villeneuve is that Patrick head says doesnt rate him. In fact he says hill was quicker than him and that he took too long for him to wrap up the title in 97!
