that first corner looks just a bit like the one at malaysia, which almost always causes a big mess on the first lap. anyone else think tilke shouldn't be allowed to design any more tracks? oh well at least we get spa back next year.

Why don't we make this a nice thread and put nice F1 pictures in it.
Or other nice pictures :)

I'll go first

its been designed by the same person i beleive. But it looks like there could be 4 or 5 places to pass depends on how wide it is.

I agree loren he should not be allowed to. They should get someone else and i wonder if MS has any input to them

This track is a Tilke design. The layout, however, is not his invention. The track looks like the Chinese letter Shàng, used for Shanghai.

Chinese characters are often symbols of abstract ideas. "Shàng" originally symbolized the concept of "above, upper, previous, get on, go up", hence its form: a horizontal line with a thingy on top pointing upwards.

"Shàngcì" for example means "God". Funny that "shàngchuáng" means "go to bed", or "have sex".

Still dont like it lolol.

Why can they not build circuits like silverstone, spa, Japan, canada anymore its so sad.

These new circuits are all neat and tiday and are made for bike races not f1 cars.

The bottom part of the track, the pit straight and few corners before it, look exactly like the concluding part of Sepang. It's not looking good.

Wow, thanks Vader for the interesting info about the layout of the circuit with the word "Shang"

I never knew that. Honestly it is not looking too good for me as it is a lot like Sepang. I am sure that the facilities will be brilliant. Also if there are some gradient changes then I might be happy as we got too many tracks that are flat.

We need some tracks to compare with Spa or Suzuka.

are there any more "@#$%&" germans in here?

the word @#$%& is used in it's adjective and not verb form.
