I don't say it was a bad overtaking, or easy, but not the best of the year

Heidfeld's pass is best put into context when compared with Webber's pass (and attempts) a few laps later. Same situation but Heidfeld performed the manouver with relative ease.

Fernando on Schumacher in suzuka?

do u remember in which conditions were ferrari is in this year. this move became famous just b'coz of schumacher not the alonso. schumacher is a really good driver. this year's ferrari isn't faster than redbull also. still with that damn car he managed alonso and kimi not to overtake for certain extent period, where as kimi and alonso are having top speed cars this year. look at barrichello with that same car.lol

1. kimi on fizi suzuka in last lap
2. kimi on alonso in england
3. montoya on alonso in england in the beginning
4. kimi on alonso in italy
5. heidfeld on alonso in monaco
6. schumacher on button in imola
7. alonso on kilen in suzuka(what a shortcut was that)

heidfeld on alonso in monaco
(this is def'ly top overtaking in that damn tight circuit, whatever the tires are in position, driver is responsible for that, just like kimi responsible for his tires in europe)

I liked Alonso on Michael at Suzuka. Simply for the speeds involved. And that its not traditionally seen as an overtaking spot.

Schumacher at Fisichella on Interlagos before the Safety Car was great (and I don't like Schunacher much).

But my favorite goes to Barrichello on Button in the same race.

Then, if the driver in front makes a spin, the other makes a great overtaking because it was the other driver's responsibility. According to this, Fernando overtook Kimi in Nurburgring, isn't it?

If you look at the overtaking in 130R you will see that it wasn't only due to Renaults's higer speed: both drivers reached the start of the corner side by side and then Fernando took the the corner along the outside line at top speed. I don't believe that many people have done something similar in that corner.

FA was lucky that he was passing MS in that corner and not JPM. And it's not about the higher speed, it's about corner speed and tyre traction.

And trusting that the driver on the inside DOES let you through - otherwise you both smash into the barriers off-track.

kimis moves on alonso in the UK (although i was on the hanger straight n it looked very cool!) were when he was very light on fuel and alonso very heavy so they dont count IMO

Kimi on Fisichella, and Alonso on Schumy. Without question two of the greatest overtaking manoeveures in 2005.

I'll never forget James Allen's reaction while Martin Brundle was talking: "Oh my word!" I'm sure he wanted to say something else. I know I did!

Trulli in Monaco, in the Loews hairpin, or the grand hotel hairpin or whatever.
Dont know who he overtook, Fisichella. He was flying over the cerbs. That really is my favorite.

look again at the replay of the pass into the 130r. Was a great move but ms backed off and alonso was actually on the correct racing line MS was not and had to break for the corner. Also the run off at the corner would have allowed for alonso to run wide.

Kimi on fissi had that gone wrong kimi would have been in the gravel at high speed as we saw with senna prost 1990, also fissi moved twice and kimi just stayed in there.

for me a good move was kimi in turkey through the middle of both renaults.

I think Kimi on Fisi was more impressive than Alonso on MS.

given the situation in the championship, and the fact that it was the last lap, makes it better than the other one. had it gone wrong, Fisi could have clipped Kimi's right-rear with his front-left, and flipped Kimi over. it would have been disastrous and spectacular at the same time.

MS knew he was beaten and clearly backed out when Alonso made his move.

who did Trulli pass at the swimming pool? I don't remember. I remember him passing Fisi into the hairpin as Fisi climbed and bounced over the high kerbs.
