New Mystery Team

I'm sure people have seen the articles regarding the 'mystery' team that are supposedly joining next year and using Honda engines.

They are supposedly credible with a lot of motorsport experience outside F1, and not British.

I'm thinking maybe a team principle from IRL has maybe hooked up with something since that series seems doomed (unless I missed something)


Any other/proper ideas who they might be?

I am not allowed to say much about it at this point, but all I can say is that Sato has been made a serious offer to join the team. Wait and see - and prepare from some forum-shaking news.

Im going to guess its a team from a Japanese background. (Nippon? F3000?) Why else would Honda be falling over themselves to help them?

Assuming its not the people that used to help Midland...

I heard it was the DAMS team, they have worked with Honda for years, and they tried to enter F1 back in 1997 as well

about the tyres, perhaps bridgestone, for a test of performance to the next season...

alot of B-teams next year...
red bull... honda... rumours about mclaren... midland, perhaps, a toyota B...

Maybe they said this to have suport from the Japanese crowd in the GP.

After the GP they not talk about this and everyone will forget it.

Maybe, but I hope to have more teams next season, Honda B and McLaren B!!!

I think the mystery team is gonna be the RedBull 2nd team. Its been a rumour for a while now and I first posted it a couple weeks ago already. Long before it was posted on news sites

it says in autosport they will use this years BAR with changes so it can take the v8.

Interesting though what was also said was that sauber done the same thing in 2004 with the ferrari car, they bought the plans and built the car them selves.

I think the team will be Nakajimas team

But we already know rb2 is minardi so it cant be that.

It's Dubai F1. They probably thougt: 'Those Mercedes engines are always braking down. We don't want them anymore. Let's ask Honda if they want to sell us their engines.'

considering team germany were 100% cahnce, phoenix were about 98%, team dubai were 100% etc etc 60% doesnt sound that promising.
but then again it almost does sound promising :p
maybe they'll decide on gp2 instead. honda wont want to head into f1 too widely spread

Former F1 driver Aguri Suzuki's 'Super Aguri' racing company is most likely behind the Honda 'b' team, it is believed. In the Suzuka paddock, the rumour mill now agrees that the possible 11th 2006 F1 team is backed by a Japanese group -- the Dome company, that looked into entering the sport in the 90s, was a candidate until bosses issued denials.

I reckon it will be "Team Vader", the meanest, darkest team on the F1 grid. They are employing Sato to act as a Kamikazee, and the team principle will be a mysterious shadowy figure from the depths of the Empire.

Penske/Wallace has made no secret of the fact they have expanded there outfit inside America recently. They now run cars in Grand Am, all 3 major NASCAR series and IRL as well as a few smaller American series. They easily have the budget and man power to run an F1 team too.
