hmm worst mistake...

well let me tell u summuts.

Satureday nite before Imola...

Shocked after the previous tragic events Senna wishes not to continue his weekend and he wants to go home. He talks to Frank (Williams) and Frank says Senna should think about it over-night. Frank is thinking about his championship getting away...

Sunday Morning. Frank accepts what has happend and accept Sennas plead to not start the gp.

Bernie comes to Senna in his motorhome and says it will be good if he could race... for the crowd who have come to see him etc. and Senna being Senna cant turn down Bernie and decides to start the gp... the rest well u know :(

or.... the descision not to change Tambullaro properly... Senna and Berger both visited the track for a test day and took a walk to the corner and then requested to change it.. but it was meerly put back a few metres :( Senna was disapointed

If i'm not mistaken, Jenson Button, while driving for Renault, a few years back, crashed out of the Italian GP, while the field was following the pace car.
Alesi running out of fuel at Melbourne, driving for Benetton, was fairly idiotic. Despite repeated calls from his pitcrew, he ignored everything and proceeded to park the car.

tamburello couldnt be changed substantially because there's a river behind the guard rail (i think). they couldnt extend the run off because of it. of course now its a chicane and alot safer.

wow, if thats true, bernie mustve felt somewhat awful...

That was in 2000, when Jenson crashed. MS was leading the pack, and he braked very much on the straight before the Parabollica, and Jenson who was in the middle of the pack had to take avoiding action, and he slided into the wall.

Don't remember the year but, in Brazil when Nick Heidfeld hit the medical car. Bernoldi crashed and his car stood in the middle of the track and the medical car stopped next to him. The door went open, and Heidfeld drove against it.

Sato at Silverstone 2005, in the warm lap he was heating up the tyres and then pushed the "wrong button" (to stop the engine). Just incredible!!!

Sato:"The simple fact is that as I was going through the start procedure on the way to the grid, I hit the wrong button on the steering wheel as I was warming up the tyres," admitted an embarrassed Takuma. "I would like to apologise to everyone in the team, everyone who got the car ready and put so much preparation into the British Grand Prix this weekend."

Yeah, that was in 2002, in warmup. I have the video of it.

The F1 shop in Sheffields Meadow Hall shopping centre had that door for sale :)

Who ever retrieved that door also got Nick to autograph it, & on it next to his signature he wrote "OOPS"

ESSENTIAL OILS aren't essential unless you're an engine, a gearbox or a twat

I see your Forti Course and raise you Andrea Moda.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Otto Stuppacher (I think that's how you spell it), and Austrian driver who attempted one qualifying session in the 70s I think. He ended up 27th (I think) so didn't bother sticking around.
Unfortunately one of the people who actually qualified then withdrew, meaning Otto could have actually raced - only he had already gone home...

Makes for great summary for retirees from the race.
"Did not know he had qualified"

And how can a bad driver be 3rd during few laps in Indy 2000 ? :)
