USA 05? There have been worse moments than that. I found it quite funny.

Sato at A1-Ring in 2002 when Heidfeld crashed into him, that was scary cos they took Sato out of the car and were pumping his chest. I though he was dead.

There are different categorys of the worst moment in F1, you could devide them into unfair driving, death, bad crash and wtf?!

Unfair driving:
-Suzuka 1989
-Suzuka 1990
-Adelaide 1994
-Jerez 1997
-Spa 1998
-Austria 2002

Bad crash (not all because I don't remember them):
-Wendlinger in Monaco 1994
-Diniz in Nurburgring when his sauber got 'flat'
-Sato in Austria
-Schumacher in Silverstone
-Panis in Montreal
-Burti in Germany and Spa

Death
-Imola 1994
-Melburne when Villeneuve flyed
-Monza the same year I think

WTF?!
-USA 2005

For me personaly the worst moment was Spa 2001 when Burti crashed, it's the only time that I thought that the driver is dead and that I was old enough to remember it for ever.

the marshall deaths were in Monza 2000 and Melbourne 2001.

Paolo Ghislimburti at Monza, and Graham Beveridge in Melbourne.

30 odd years ago, marshalls were killed on a regular basis as a result of crashes, they do their work for free or very little whereas drivers get paid substantial amounts to risk their lives. Having said that nothing in my memory will erase how black that Imola weekend was in '94 as i saw it live.

and Jerez '97 is there, but is it for the MS/JV incident, or the Macca/Williams cheating, I mean fixing, I mean friendly team interaction?

I don't remember for every race so not all are on the list. I just remembered Australia 1996 I think, when Brundle crashed heavily. By Jerez 1997 I was thinking on MS/JV

USA 2004 for me as well, seeing that yellow helmet still in the cockpit brought back memories from 10 years previously. Imola '94 I was only seven and so didn't realise the full impact of what had happened, although I saw it live. If I had been older that would be top of the list.

Imola 1994.

USA 2004, on our tv feed, Ralf just did not move in the cockpit, i thought he was dead for sure. And normally i do not immediately think that, like with Burti 2001 etc.

Jerez 1997 i enjoyed because it backfired on Schumacher. I can't really remember Adelaide 94.

And for a Damon Hill fan: Monaco 1996. Heartbreaking.

Imola 1994 obviously stands out as I saw it live on TV.

But Burti's accident at Spa in 2001 was really stands out for me as I was there at the very GP and the accident occured from a distance behind me as I was sitting opposite a TV screen at the inside of the Fagnes Corner.

All of us was cheering and enjoying the atmosphere (mainly due to Schumacher on his way to beat Prost's record for most wins) and then suddenly it went so quiet when we saw the accident live on the TV screen.

All of us sat in disbelief and hoped that Irvine's efforts to take the tyres off the Prost wasn't all in vain and then we saw that Burti was responsing to the marshals and the medicial staff.

I have never been so relieved.

Senna's death was the worst for me. But being there when Ralf was stactic and his visor wide open with his head hung down was simply horrible, I got a picture of it but luckily for me I wasn't that close.
