the exact story of luximburg
in 2003 Kimi retired while leading...and so he did in 2005 instead of getting his well deserved win
and in Germany 2004 he retierd while catching Michael the leader..and again in 2005 he retierd while leading
its funny
i actually laughed when he retied....
anyway we are smarter than to thing that life is fair
am just glad the championship is over...

Alonso benfitted from making the best of the equpiment he had at the start of the season, he scored maximum points when his car allowed him

The same as mr happy at mclaren, when it worked without braking down


questions need to be asked................

is it that renault are taking the conservative approach since their points haul at the beginning of the season?

Or is it mclaren are turning up the wick to gain superioty over the opposition only to fail with reliablilty?


Hard to say either way unless your part of the top brass at either organiastion

heh i figured kimi would retire and i almost fell asleep just before he did. kimi pushes the car 110% every lap. If he drove at alonsos pace then perhaps he could have saved the engine. But kimis a racer and its up to the team to give him a car that can go 110% through a race.

He didn't have an engine problem., and yes., life is fair............. to alonso

mclaren used to be the team for reliabilty in the late 80's early 90's. Since Merc joined them they have had so many break downs and its cost them championships. No point having the best car if it breaks all the time.

Kimi could have and should have won this years championship but that aint gonna happen and alonso deserves it cause he has finished races and won when the mclaren blows up.

And at the start of the year until imola mclaren could not quali well

I definitely think that Renault are taking a more conservative approach, but then again, they know that as long as they do that, and Alonso keeps on finishing, he will finish high up at almost all the races, and it will be very difficult for Kimi to get close, even if he wins all the remaining races.

Ei guys, I think it is a little hard to say that Alonso doesn't deserve to win the championship!! He is leading the championshipp and reliability have been always an issue in F1!!!! Alonso has been second when he couldn't be first and then Kimi fails... well, that's it. You have to get a quick& reliable car and races last 70 laps, not 30...
Alonso deserves to win the championship, no doubt. No errors (ok, Canada...), no reliability problems, fast enough to be always among the top three...

Kimi is veeeery fast, but he has a car that can run for olny 150 Kms... McLaren have to look for answers.

i'm an MS fan, but I think Kimi deserves it more. maybe if Kimi kept winning due to Alonso's engine breaking all the time I would say Alonso deserved it. maybe we all think Kimi is driving better because we feel sorry for him?

That is usually the criteria for winning the championship, having more points than the rest of the drivers. (Anyone mentions 1988 and I'll Kill them :P)

what happened in '88 then?

Prost won the championships despite scoring less points than Senna over the season.
