MINARDI LIKELY TO DROP FRIESACHER

Minardi looks set to drop Patrick Friesacher before the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim in because the Austrian's funding has apparently run-out.
Team owner Paul Stoddart confirmed to Reuters that he was considering alternatives to the 24-year-old, who scored two points in the US GP at Indianapolis and has outqualified team-mate Christijan Albers 6-5 so far this year.
"Patrick being replaced at the next race is a strong possibility because of sponsorship money not being paid," said Paul Stoddart.
Jordan's Dutch reserve driver Robert Doornbos is believed to head the list of potential replacements along with 2004 Minardi pilot, Hungarian Zsolt Baumgartner.
Stoddart also hinted that Turkish GP2 series driver Can Artam may be in the frame thanks to the time proximity of the inaugural Grand Prix in Istanbul on August 21.
"We have talked to a Turkish driver and if a commercial deal is concluded, we would be proud to run him in Turkey," added Stoddart.
