Frank Williams has openly criticised engine partner BMW for its readiness to blame the team for the under-performance of its recent cars.

On several occasions in the past two years BMW has hinted that it felt Williams was not pulling its weight in the chassis department, drawing an implied contrast with its engine which it claimed was a match for any on the grid.

Williams has kept his own counsel throughout but now admits that such comments rankled with him

Bless that's probably Frank getting a bit over emotional.

"Yeah, right, that Juan guy was @#$%& for me! He cost me three hundred trillion million dollars in wages in March 03 alone!"

TBH BMW are to blame abit for this years performance.

Williams were expecting a new engine unit from them, but instead theyve got an upgraded engine unit from last year because the 05 unit had flaws in it (apparently some spotted by Nick Heidfeld during winter testing)

this year yes the BMW engine is not that good its probably the least powerful of all the main engines.

But williams have made some not so good cars over the past few years when the engine was good plus RS and JPM's driving did not always help.

note frank had some good words for honda and renault. but now those two consider themselves at the top so theres not much gain for supporting bmw 100%. maybe williams honda and BAR cosworth next year?

yep but when honda left williams, williams slated them.

When renault joined williams there was problems then as well as it took to long in their view to win a championship.

It took from 1989 until 1992, and at the start 1991 they were telling williams to sort things out.

maybe williams honda and BAR cosworth next year?

That's as likely as Damon Hill returning to the F1 grid... Honda own over half the BAR team and will buy them whole in time.

toyota are meant to be staying with Jordan.

Sound like williams are trying to get on the good side of honda and renault. Both of them teams are factory and owned by the engine makers thats why i do not think they will supply williams and they will use cosworth.

Tbh i dont think that engines bad plus they are none for the v8's over the years.

Williams co-founder Patrick Head has lambasted engine supplier BMW for making public criticism of the team as the relationship between the two companies appears to have hit a new low point.

BMW is in talks to supply Sauber in 2006, and is thought to be considering buying the Swiss team outright.

Moreover Frank Williams revealed this week that his team is talking to other manufacturers about an engine supply should the BMW deal come to an end.

But Head is furious that BMW has been so publicly critical of Williams and suggested that some of the blame for the team's disappointing start to the season should be laid at the door of the Munich marque.

"We adopt the same strategy as [BMW], and our doubts are especially about the way they handle the engine's power," Head told Italy's Sport Auto Moto.

"Obviously yes [we are talking to others], since BMW decided to talk publicly about their dissatisfaction in their relationship with the Williams team. This is something I personally consider to be extremely unprofessional.

"I haven't been very well impressed by this attitude, which is when a constructor pretends that every problem comes from the car and not from the engine.

"Unfortunately our partner chose to tell people they are perfect while accusing us."

Head said that despite the war or words between the two companies that there is still a possibility they could continue to work together.

"We must live with this way of behaving of theirs, but we can't act the same way," he said.

"We would have to look at the situation and evaluate it closely, but we'll certainly pay great attention at every other option.

"Having said that, if it will be available it's a possibility."

This is the sixth year of a the partnership between Williams and BMW. In that time the team has produced 10 victories, but so far no world championship titles.

Maybe but they have such interest in mclaren.the other team would not get as much support.
Although it would be cool..mclaren and williams 2 of the greatest teams in F1 competing on the same engine and tyres.

Thats true marcl, but if you cant get it, than you must accept any engine avaliable.

But after all, I believe that Mercedes wont supply engines to another team besides McLaren and that other team, which has announced to enter the championship in 2006, with technical and other help of McLaren and Mercedes.

Let's see - BMW to Sauber and Honda to Williams?

Well, this is the only possible way I see for JB to drive for Williams next year. BMW will most likely take Nick with them, so Williams could use their option on JB and get him in a bundle with a few Honda deep fry... err engines.

REHAB IS FOR QUITTERS
Sounds like you've created a McF1..."I'll have a JB combo with a side order of Honda engines, hold the Heidfeld"
