Wanted to post this outside of the GP Thread, so we can gauge a more general reaction.

From ITV-F1.com

Michael Schumacher may have dismissed Rubens Barrichello's criticism of his driving tactics during the Monaco Grand Prix as an 'emotional' outburst, but the Brazilian claims his views have not changed on the matter.

The world champion forced his way by his Ferrari team-mate at the chicane on the last lap, prompting Barrichello to publicly slate Schumacher afterwards.

But despite having played a subservient role to Schumacher in the past, Barrichello remains adamant that from now on he will play rough with the German.

"I still have my opinion about it and I told him so," Barrichello told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

"In the tunnel, I got a bit too close to Ralf and I had to lift in order not to hit him, and Micheal took advantage of it. If I was the one behind and attempted that pass, the world would have fallen.

"No, I don't agree with it and I say the things I must say.

"I said what I think to Jean Todt as well, very clearly.

"I don't want to be a moaner, but many times, when we got one-twos, it was said that I gave a big contribution to get precious points for the team, and now I repeat that in this team I demonstrated my worth with nine victories."

During the unprecedented outburst Barrichello warned Schumacher that from now on he can expect the same treatment as any other driver would get from the Brazilian.

"Now I know that he won't protect my racing line, so I'll act accordingly," he said.

"In the future I'll have to consider Michael not as a team-mate, but like any other driver."

"It is unlikely that situations like Monte Carlo will arise again, and it's obvious that I won't go banging his wheels. I told Michael that I don't agree with what he's done, but at the end of the day we know that he always thinks the way he wants...

Schumacher was asked about Barrichello's post-Monaco comments in the FIA press conference on Thursday but denied that there was an issue between the two drivers.

"I haven't seen him today but I spoke to him on Monday because it was his birthday," he said.

"He was pretty relaxed. He is Brazilian, anyway, you should know, he is a bit more temperamental."

Methinks the press is just trying to bleed this to death when it's no big deal, it's not as if there's much else going on in F1 atm...

maybe, but all that stuff in quotation marks has to have come from his mouth, or its libel.

I would say that the Monaco situation opened Rubens eyes a bit, and I hope he keeps up this new attitude.

He's been treated poorly at Ferrari. Schumi has him right over a barrel :( That said, he knew that would be the case, and he signed up. Also, he's had a race winning car for a number of years, which he maybe wouldnt have had anywhere else.

I think his time might be up soon, but I don't think Felipe will leave Sauber yet, it's been a good spotlight place for Felipe, having very good drives.

But I hope Rubinho follows through with the idea of going more at it, as in other times he had just said it but apparently forgot that he was once upset, and resumed to be #2...

Well, Rubens signed up to do it for a number of years, so he has no one to blame but himself! Irvine said that being Michael's team mate was like being hit over the head with a cricket bat every other weekend.

Rubens should shutup frankly he knew what came with becoming Schumacher's teammate and if he didnt Austria 2002 was blatantly obvious......bring in Felipe wonder what he could do in a Ferrari

As far as I'm concerned, it's Rubens fault. Shouldn't leave the door open. On the last lap, what do you expect MS to do when he sees a gap? Stay behind? I think not.

No, but what if it was the other way around? Rubens is right - the team would have gone mad at him. I think he has finally realised how little respect he is given. It may have taken some time, but at least he has realised

i've said it before, and i'll say it again, Rubens is a tit.

team orders only work 1 way in ferrari: to help michael.

he should be thinking about racing till he crosses the line, like MS does. he should expect any driver to try to pass until the race is over, whether its MS, or Karthikeyan behind him.

and yes he should treat MS the same as any other driver (contract permitting), in that he must fight against them until its over.

and Red Sam, you are correct. it has taken many years, but hopefully he can see that everyone laughs at him, both in and out of the team. he's just 'Good Ole Rubens' who'll do anything they ask of him, and shaft him for it when it suits them. i certainly have no respect for him, and i doubt th eteam really does. sure, they throw him a few scraps during the end of the season when its all done, just to keep him in check for the following season, but we all know his role in the team.

RIP Jules, never to be forgotten. #KeepFightingMichael

yep, true - i've got no respect for him either. if he came out saying 'im the number 2 and not allowed to pass micheal' i'd be more impressed, but he always comes out with the same bollocks - 'im closer to micheal this year and seriously think i can beat him'
apart from the clause in your contract.

but who's better? a number 2's job is to get points for the constructor title but never show up the number 1.

poor old rubes :';(

MS wouldn't make the mistake of leaving the door open. Like MB said during qualie, MS was the only one awake, everyone else was asleep.
