Definately more entertaining than Melbourne, we did see some good overtaking towards the end of the race as predicted pre-season. Felt sorry for Webber and Fisi, that was 50/50 IMO. Mclarens pace was poor though Kimi drove really well and another bad day for Ferrari which is quite unsual though a nice change from last season. As for BAR, as Nelson would say Ha Ha!

Rumours have it that Ferrari will use this year's Sauber in 2006.

Montoya was really slow compared to Kimi .Montoya's fastest lap was 1,36,585 and Kimi set the fastest lap of the race 1,35,483 .

Yeah Montoya isn't doing so well, he has to calm down in the car. He drives well when the car is fast but when it isn't he tends to overdrive and wear his tyres.

Pretty enjoyable race, was quite funny what happened to BAR considering the fuss with them changing engines.
Ferrari haven't been that bad since Hungary 03, wonder what sort of Michelin tyre irregurality the FIA will invent this time ;)

"Ferrari haven't been that bad since Hungary 03"

Ferrari haven't been that bad for 10+ years.I would like to be a fly on the wall at Maranello now.

Average race, just about enough action to keep me awake.Nice wheel-to-wheel action but without Fisichella's problems(?) it wouldn't have happened.

Interesting to see how much better Raikkonen was than Montoya.

Alonso,Heidfeld,Toyota well done those guys.
The race got much better as it went along, peaked in the action towards the end, which is good.

I agree with Vader on the Fisi/Webber incident - There WAS a half-chance there, and I'd much rather see a driver attempt a move in those situations than sit back and wait for a full chance - which Fisi wasn't going to get with his problems.

I'm gutted about Kimi too, that looked 2nd place to me. I'm amazed at how well Toyota stayed on the pace, although I'm suspecting that Alonso was just taking it easy at the end there, as his team-mate did in Melbourne.

I'm delighted to see Ferrari struggling, and I don't mean that in a nasty way, it's refreshing to see them in a bit of a problem situation, and no doubt it will be very exciting watching them trying to overcome that.

I thought it was a pretty good race. Shame fisichella had whatever problems he had with setup or whatever..could have created a little bit more excitement out front.
Good to see that Heidfeld picked up where JPM left off at williams and aint afraid to go wheel to wheel watch his first lap on the replay, six wide into turn one..then passes DC on the outside of Turn 4!

Renault are very consistent..which is got Alonso the win..looking at the fastest lap times of the race though KR fastest,NH 2nd,Trulli 3rd.

Problem is it is not the Ferrari car itself thats losing the time, even though it is slightly slower pace than the front runners obviously, being a year old car not designed for the new regulations this year like the other cars, but it is the tyres, which Barrichello confirmed by retiring with basically no grip left on the rears.

I dont see how they can really fix this quickly as they are basically the only team testing these tyres compared to the 7 others teams testing the michelins, So either the F2005 was built alongside NASA, or the tyres need a solution fast, although im expecting them to be much quicker in Bahrain, either with or without the F2005 car.

I quite enjoyed the race especially the Willams and Ralf battle, and am very happy Quick Nick got on the podium.

I dont htink ferrari will touble the front until the f2005 comes out...
Williams are improving fast, and mclaren and toyota have faster cars. Also ferrari probably arent developing the f2004m and concentrating on the 2005 car.
Also will be interesting to see how much faster the new car is it needs to be at least 1 second per lap quicker to match the renaults.

I'm not too sure about this race, it was a bit boring for me. Renault is dominating, but hopefully there will be more competition for the front positions of the race. Looking a bit like 2004, just with Renaults instead of ferraris. IMO anyway.

Fisichella was getting dominated by his teammate, and made things worse by taking himself and Webber out. I may be a Webber fan but deadset 50/50? i think now Webber didn't lock up, Webber didn't brake to late, Webber was ahead, and Webber didn't oversteer into the car outside who left more then enuff room. 50/50? some guys listen to Brundle alil to much.
Every goes on about how mclaren have a fast car but IMO the jury is still out on that....Renault's dominance, although my fave team, is beginning to bore me now...where are every one else?? just goes to show that the RS24 was a champ winning car just that the engine and the F2004 where not good and too good respectively.

Better race than Aussie...cant believe i am saying that...and well done to Toyota [doesnt mean i like you anymore than before] Trulli is a breathe of fresh for Toyota because he is class over 1 lap if the other teams arent careful then at monaco a toyota may be on pole.
Alonso just shows what the real deal is at renault and that he is number #1.

About Fisichella vs. Webber: totally fisichella's fault he had no chance of completing the move.

great to see the williams drivers fighting i thought that the battles of montoya and ralf where long gone bring on heidfeld vs. webber ;)

fisi's fault? yet like when kimi passed massa if webber knew fisi was never gonna slow down he could have cut back in on him exactly as kimi did , i think webber was over anxious, but it was still very exciting, especially when ralf went for the pass the the 3 of them had a battle(webber, heidfield and ralf) :D

u cant call 2 back to back wins dominating, they havent even got a 1-2 on the podium yet!!!!!!!!!!!!. i jus like the fact that the races seem alot more open, aswell as the fact that there are differnt cars competing for the top places (renault, williams, RBR, Toyota etc, and thankfully not ferrari!)

"u cant call 2 back to back wins dominating"

Perhaps, but then again the winning Renault was never challenged in both races.

I can't believe idiots are calling it 50/50 still...a guy outbrkes him self and takes 2 cars out of the race isn't 50/50. I've never seen such a clear cut mistake from a driver been turned into 50/50. I guess people listen to Martin Brundle too much, who is a scared lil boy when blaming drivers, and when he does he usually gets the wrong one anyway.

i cant believe people dont listen to explanations and are totally ignorant when it comes to their favourite drivers going out of a race...

but on the other hand, quite an enjoyable race i thought

After 2 races, calling 2 victories in a row and one 3rd domination, is like calling a summer rainy and wet after repeated showers in the first week. If they do it for the duration of the season, then it is domination. It is sad how the Ferrari era has warped the perception of the sport. Try this at home... stare long and hard at a red object. Then remove your eyes and stare at a white wall... see that contrast colour? Its called an optical illusion. ;-)

As for the Fisi/Webber incident, I saw Webber make his intentions clear and giving plenty of room. Fisi lost control, slid up the track and hit Webber, which is entirely out of Webbers control. I'd say it was Fisi's bad all the way. It seems though that Webber knew that he was gaining on Fisi because his tyres where finished. A smart and experienced racedriver had let him slide out in front of him, and cut back to the inside of the corner and taken him there. He didn't and it cost him his race, but that still doesn't make it his responsability that Fisi didn't maintain control of his car.

It's only after we've lost everything, that we are free to do anything.
