I'll try to steal the McLaren motorhome next time I'm at a GP.

when the 2 mechanics pic the cover by the sidepod bit, it does flex quite a bit, even though its carbon-fibre. 1 man trying to carry it himself would probably break it.

The car wasnt damaged in that spin, Kimi went caught it, and went back to the pits.

" because its hard to walk out without someone noticing you clutching an engine cover under your coat"

i guess the person who stole the hlemet then must have found it easy... "hold on a minute love, were you pregnant when you came in?"

When I first read the title of this thread.. i thought pooky was whoring himself off. which i found disturbing, what im finding more disturbing is the fact that i decided to read it after that thought :-S

I thought at first it was stolen. But looking at the sidepods, they seem a bit weird, but I'm no expert like that... but it is Sao Paulo, guys, don't go putting it off the equation!
If a guy went with a gun and held it at point blank at a driver, I can see some people working and stealing things

Guys, bits of bodywork are very very common on ebay. There is no reason to suggest this is stolen

And aren't there security guards at various tracks at night, too?

When I read the title of this topic, I thought they were selling Bruce McLaren's mummy.

Cool, if it's that easy to pick up F1 car parts, I might pop along to all the races this year and see what I can procure.

An engine cover here, maybe a brake calliper there...

Who knows, by the end of the season I might have enough parts to enter my own customer chassis under the 2006 rules! I'll take applications for drivers next week.

Wait no; actually, I'll just steal a few drivers too! Nick Heidfeld's a fairly small bloke, isn't he? Do you think Williams would notice if I slipped him into my pocket?

LS could help you out with that, he already has half of a Williams sitting around. :P

When I wrote this thread I should use "McLaren Engine Cover for sale" as title but I couldn't express myself in english.

I wanted to know Pooky's opinion. I didn't think it was stolen, it's really difficult to steel something in a Grand Prix weekend. It's almost impossible to stand in a area different than the grandstand if you don't have permission.

What I thougt it maybe be a fake, so I wanted to know your opinion if it's a real part of the car. I think now that almost all of you realise it's the real part of the car.

They ended the auction without selling the engine cover. Maybe they wanted more money for it.

But if the guy got the part of the car as a gift of McLaren Team, is he allowed to sell it?

i know you can pick small bits of car up here and there, like pieces of crabon fibre because I played in the gravel traps at silverstone a few years ago and am pretty sure I nipped up some Jordan parts :D

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it
