just read this great little story from the 2002 Australian GP in the motorsport column of Sydneys "The Sun Herald" paper, written by Peter Mckay:
"Nearly three years after Mark Webber's fairytale fifth place in his Grand Prix debut in Melbourne, Minardi formuala one team boss Paul Stoddart has told an incredible story relating to that race.
Stoddart has kept the tale secret since he was asked to address the hard-working track marshals at their post-race get together on the night of the GP.
There, stoddart learned that after the first lap crash, the marshals used all the available cranes and recovery vehicles to remove damaged cars, but a stricken Sauber was still blocking the track.
Normally this would mean officials would almost certainly red flag the race. But the marshals, realising local hero Webber has slipped through the carnage and gained plenty of places, were desperate to avoid a restart (which would have meant the Minardi going to the back of the field).
So eight of the workers, finding strength they didnt know they had, manhandled the Sauber off the track, allowing the race to continue.
The rest is history."
