When MS, RS JPM, RB and DC retire what will the new driver team combinations be like? i say this.

Ferrari: Fernando Alsonso (ferrari are interested)
Crisitano Da Matta (ferrari like brazilians)

Williams: Mark Webber (fit in there well)
Giancarlo Fisichella (ferrari doesnt want italians, hes an unlucky driver, never had a top drive)

McLaren: Kimi Raikkonen
Nick Heidfield (strong ties to the team e.g F3000)

Is that really true? Ferrari don't like Italians?

Crisitano Da Matta is 2 years younger than RB i don't think Ferrari will sign with another Brazilian so soon...

Ferrari dont neccerally like italian drivers, they just dont want one, they said so themselves, they aernt going to take on an Full-time italian RACE driver, (Badoers test-driver). i guess they want the team to be as multi-national as possible.

german driver
brazillian driver
american and european sponsers
french team boss
south african technical boss
MS race engineer is an aussie.

south african technical boss

Isn't Ferrari's technical director Ross Brawn British? The fact that he was born in Manchester does speak in favour of that theory.

He is indeed...and is probably the poshest sounding Mancunian I've ever seen or heard!

what about chief mechanic nigel stepney - british too.

iam not sure about hiedfeld making it into a top team. he is struggling to beat frentzen.

drivers in F3 like jaime gree, nelson angelo piquet etc. appear to have more 'potential' and potential is what F1 team bosses like.

apparently ron dennis only hired kimi instead of hiedfeld because he looked to have more potential.

i mean who knows, to be honnest, i dont see the reasons in the original post, they seemm quite strange, hehe, but if you told someone in the year 2000 that kimi would be driving for Mclaren in 2002, they would have laughed at you, and that says it all, you just dont know untill the time comes :)

Ross Brawn and Nigel Stepney are indeed English. But Rory Byrne is South African.

Rory Byrne is the head of the design team, not "technical boss".

I remember reading in F1 Racing a few months back that Niko Rosberg had a test for BMW Williams.

He could be a name to look out for in a few years, racing alongside Nelson Piquet Jnr...

This could potentially be the first 2nd generation of drivers whose fathers both competed in the same era.

If Graham Hill hadn't died in a stupid plane crash, Damon Hill and Jaques Villeneuve could have been the first 2nd generation drivers racing each other like their fathers.

What about Damon Hill and David Brabham in the 1990s? Both had fathers that competed in the same era.

I suppose you could even include Michael Andretti after his brief spell of writing off Mclaren cars in 1993. ;-)

also dont forget christian fittipaldi, geoff brabham, and paul stewart, to add to damon and david, 1 didnt compete in F1 but they were all coming up through the ranks together, an outsider on this next generation would be derick hill

I don't want to be a nitpicker, but Christian Fittipaldi is the nephew of Emerason, not his son.

Good thing I just made salami out of the horse, otherwise I would be sitting on my ass now, looking pretty dumb.

My sincere apologies, andrew_S, my bad. ;)
