Tiago Monteiro will drive for Jordan....

Autosport seems to think Tiago Monteiro will be set for the second race seat.

As a Portuguese i really hope so...

After all, since 1996 (with Pedro Lamy) we don't have a countryman in F1.

Hes was awsome,best rookie and he could have been champion if he wasnt so unlucky at Magny cours and Barcelona where his engine caught fire forcing him to miss the free practice sessions,making him loose valuable time,and even at Valencia where he was almost putted out of the race on the main straight by some crazy spanish driver.
His races specially at Zolder were unbeliveble,he didnt knew the track and won the two races and made the fastest lap.
But I reckon most people dont know him because they didnt followed his career in the last years,but I can tell you he is a very good driver,and he only started racing with 19 years old.

If we all would believe in rumours then Alex Young would be a five times world champion by now. I would hold my horses if I were you. There are more than ten drivers who were just about to sign a contract in the past and neither of them eventually made it. And even signed contract aren't everything in f1.

It would be nice to see both proving themselves, but they're not on top of my wishlist tbh.

It does look like them 2 though

Karthikeyan doesn't deserve it yet. In a few years, maybe. But he's just paying his way with this one, much like Pantano did.

I 2 think its 2 early 4 Narain.. he had a mixed season at worldseries-04 and with guys like Heikki,Tiago, Jean-Christophe & Enrique how were very impressive.. paying in ur way was the only way 4 narain and with all the Midland-Jordan stuff happening may b the team just want 2 take it eazy this year.

really hoped doornbos got the drive...good in consistency (great in wet wheather)
on f1total.com they said he had his sponsor packet together and was just waiting for reply in a couple of days......

anyway this sounds like a good driver too so lets find out.......
though they both never did drive f1 did they??
