Davidson to Jordan??!!!!

According to the BBC site, the bosses at Midland are looking to Anthony Davidson for a race seat! personally i think this would be great, although he would probably be driving a fairly bad car. But would BAR loan him out for the year??

I seriously hope not .... I want so badly Tiago Monteiro to get in F1 ...

I don't know much about monteiro but he has hardly set the world on fire has he?? Davidson is probably the most promising driver without a drive that there is left on the market...

Well the news in Portugal are that Monteiro is the favourite to get a seat at Jordan this year.
He went last weekend to the UK to talk with the Midland bosses and he said that the negotiations went really good and are now on the final stages.

Not only you wants to see Monteiro in F1 but also Trevor Carlin who was his boss last season in the World Series by Nissan who wants Monteiro in his team.

Also this news sounds a little bit ridiculous,as far as I know Bar-Honda didnt alow Davidson to test for Williams or to get a seat at Red-Bull.
One think is "wanting" other thing is "if they can",and I am not seeing BAR-Honda let Davidson go.

1st : You dont know him because you want, there are some news on him ... He already raced in CART lead many laps of ( I Think ) Mid Ohio 2 years ago in a POOR car and last season finished second behind Heiki Kovalainen in Nissan World Series. You may not know him but I´m sure the f1 bosses know
Was a test driver for minardi last year for minardi and 3 years ago I think he was a test driver for renault

2nd : I would say exactly the same about davidson , I didnt know him when he got into minardi ....

3rd : bah if you had no english guy in f1 you would know what I and much probably all portuguese F1 fans feel ...

Having a Portuguese in F1 would be great for us, since Pedro Lamy we dont have anyone :/, and could bring Estoril back to F1 who knows.

ive heard of monteiro for a few years, hes had just never set the world on fire, for me, but hes had success in the last couple of years though

yes you´re 100% right Andrew, but I think the same can be said for Davidson, I didnt know him until he got in Minardi at Hungary 03. He is "famous" now because he was very good in friday tests.
(btw I don´t mind having him in jordan-midland team ,I think he would be valuable to the team)

George W Bush set the world on fire and still I don't want him to drive the Jordan. Of course people from Portugal will have followed Tiago's career more than Anthony's and naturally British fans will know more about Anthony.

I have seen Davidson mainly doing testing. He was pretty good at that, but then he was driving a good car and could push more as a test driver, whereas race drivers had to fear engine failures more. His two races in 2002 were decent as well, though he didn't really set the world on fire either (2 DNF if I remember correct). I have, however, seen Tiago in real race situations and I was impressed a few times. How well he will adopt to F1 I don't know. I can't say who's better of the two.

I don't rate Davidson much and I don't think he'll be going to Jordan anytime soon, either.

it would be nice for him to get a race seat for 2005, and a car not as good as teh BAR he is used to would really show us what he's made of. he spun out of his 2 races in 2002 with Minardi, and shone brighly in a good car in 2004 on fridays, so a full year in a poor car would help him improve, and also make it clear how good he is. we all know the friday drivers can do (relatively) more mileage, and run more at the limit, so maybe this made him appear better than he actually is? good luck to him.

also, i read on teletext that Jordan/Midland are interested in Indian driver Narayan Karthikayan for a race seat. would be nice if he got it and did well.

hes been a bout for a few years, had a few half decent years in BF3 then did nothing...

as for driving for minardi, it wont do any any good, it hasnt done anyone any good for a few years... wilson was unlucky at jag, but appart from that i cant see anyone carving a carier from a minardi drive..

Davidson to Jordan is just a rumour, he'll never go. Same reason BAR wouldn't let him test for Williams. There are so many names for the Jordan seats, there's still Doornbos, Glock and Baumgartner.

he showed some good performance last year in his role as 3rd driver at the last three races.....but i guess the chance isn't that big cause midland f1 has taken over control
