and I think these onboard cameras are much better then the nowadays ones!!!!

We can feel the ride much closer to what is on the reality.... not like today, where we take a ride on the top of the roll bar, with an high vision angle, where everything looks smaller, and farer....

I wish they would go back to manual gear changes and not this automatic crap we have now days. How many gear changes was it around monaco?

35 a lap if my memory serves me right...

Re Senna's lap at Adelaide - I remember my amazement at how much the camera shook on that car. Reason was McLaren trimmed the weight on that '91 car so much, compared to the Williams whose camera seemed solid as a rock...

Yep thats right in hungry that year they bought out a light weight car, the body work was very light so the cam shock so much.

I will never forget the story I heard about James Hunt when his gearstick knob fell off.

The exposed gear stick was like a knife blade...

He only went and shoved it thru his hand and carried on racing - one hand on wheel, the other with the stick thru his hand...

Now THAT, my friends, is guts!!

Can't seem to download the clips at the mo...Bugger!!!!!!!!!

I read that story.....but differently. I knew he broke the gearshift, and it was sharp, but from the book I read, he just used the bottom of the palm of his hand to continue to change gear.

Why not? they're all the same breed. You reckon DC or Montoya woudn't do the same? I thinnk they would exactly the same. By the same token, not all drivers of Hunt's era were made of steel either.

He did not put the gear stick through his hand he just cut it on the sharp metal.
